UPDATE......

After a visit from USCIS on September 20th, FINALLY APPROVED. Got green card in the mail On Saturday December 10th!!!!!! The long wait is finally over!!!

So for those of you in difficult situations, there is always light at the end of the tunnel :-)

AOS Timeline:

June 2nd 2010- Filed for adjustment of status

June 16th 2010- Biometrics letter received scheduled for July 9th.

August 9th 2010- AOS interview letter received. Interview scheduled for September 21st, 2010.

August 14th 2010- EAD arrived finally!!!! Thank you God.

September 21st 2010- GC Interview @ 0100

April 20, 2011- Applied to renew EAD &AP (paper)

May 9, 2011- AP RECEIVED! Talk about fast service!

June 8, 2011- EAD card received!

September 20th, 2011- Home visit by USCIS officers!!!!

November 21st- Fingerprint notice for Dec1st

December 5th- Card Production Ordered email/text

December 7th- Card production ordered again email/text

December 8th- Decision on case status email/text

December 10th -GREEN CARD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL, WHOOP WHOOP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/05/2005 - Entered US with J-1

04/16/2006 - Met my husband

04/11/2007 - AOS from J-1 to B-2

07/10/2007 - Out of Status

08/26/2011 - Husband became USC through naturalization

10/12/2011 - We got married!

12/03/2011 - Sent AOS package(I-130, I-485, I-765) to Chicago Lockbox

12/05/2011 - Delivery confirmation via USPS

12/16/2011 - Received emails for I-130, I-485

12/22/2011 - Received NOA in mail for I-130, I-485 dated 12/16/2011

12/23/2011 - Received rejected I-765 due to missing signature

12/24/2011 - Received biometrics appointment on 01/09/2012 dated 12/20/2011

12/27/2011 - Reapplied I-765

12/29/2011 - I-765 has been delivered by USPS confirmation

01/04/2012 - Walk-in biometrics done

01/11/2012 - Received NOA in mail for I-765 dated 12/30/2011

02/01/2012 - Received text/email for I-765, Card/Document Production

02/06/2012 - Received EAD card in mail. YAY!

02/07/2012 - Received text/email for interview date, 03/15/2012

02/08/2012 - Received interview letter in mail

03/15/2012 - Interview at San Antonio, approved on spot and got a stamp!

03/23/2012 - Green card in hand! :^D

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Thanks! They do make home visits if they suspect anything like fraud. For my case, someone called/emailed them & told them that our marriage was fake. They came at our house at 7am in the morning unannounced!

01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!

It was nerve wrecking! Especially after opening the door all sleepy eyed & having badged flashed at me!!!

I don't think you would be in trouble. My husband wasn't home either as he works at 4am. What matters is that they see his/your belongings. They looked in the closets, bathroom, bedroom, everywhere! Then we sat down & they did a mini interview, while writing stuff. After they were done, i asked them what they thought & they told me everything looked fine.

I believe that as long as its a true marriage & you have a valid explanation for whatever they ask, then everything should be fine.
