It really seems each case is so different, so keep this in mind , BOP.

When preparing RFE, we just compliled more bills and CC in both his name and my name showing transactions that prove our blended incomes over the past 3 years.

We also signed and updated our lease.

We didn't have kids, mortgage etc.

Did anyone else's approval letter have only your first initial and last name printed, and not your full name? Wondering if I need to contact them about it or just let it go...

YAY! I received my new Green Card today: 9/14. Finally the wait is over for me :D

Like someone else previously mentioned, when I received my approval letter few weeks ago, the case status online didn't change, and I didn't get any texts or emails from USCIS. On 9/10 I got first text message to check case status online, and it said that on 9/8 they ordered card production, then on 9/11 another text and status said that the card was mailed, and I got it today :)

This new card looks very different than the old conditional GC.

Card received today!

Much fancier than the conditional one too! (in my old one the picture was so faded, it looked like I was a ghost!)

Removal of Conditions (I-751) Timeline:

  • Nov 20th, 2011: Initial Submission Sent
  • Dec 3rd, 2011: Conditional Green Card expires
  • Dec 12th, 2011: Panic! USPS returned package to local Post Office on Nov 25th and didn't tell us!
  • Dec 13th, 2011: Re-sent Package (now late)
  • Dec 19th, 2011: NOA1 received
  • Jan 06th, 2012: Date of Bio Appointment
  • Aug 24th, 2012: Removal of Conditions Approved (letter received 8/29)

The story so far:

  • Aug 2003: Met future wife on her year abroad at university
  • 2005: After a year of long distance, enter USA on F1 visa (we knew we liked each other, weren't sure enough to get married)
  • May 2008: Finish courses, begin 1 year OPT
  • May 2009: Get Married, begin adjustment of status process
  • Dec 3rd 2009: Receive conditional green card

Did you sign up for updates online for the case status updates.

We could tell when they were actually looking at our case because it changed from the " case received" to "reviewing/ under review" . About a week later we got the approval letter.

Fingers crossed. And congrats to everyone who got the approval!

Woohoo, I received my approval notice. No text or email date, just got the letter in te mail yesterday. Date of approval was 9/10/2012.

It looks like they're getting a move on now. Good luck to all those still waiting.
