Trying to book flight for my fiancee out of Manila to Dallas. Does Filipino government require the tickets be purchased on the island or can I buy them online here in the US? When trying to buy on Korean Air, a pop-up screen shows up saying tickets can not be purchased online. Is this a Korean Air policy or does this apply to all carriers? When I look at sites such as Kayak.com nothing stops me from making the purchase. PLEASE give me feed back, I want her to fly on Dec 8th and need to buy the ticket very soon before seats are sold out.

Tickets can be bought online, there is no problem.

I have booked the ticket for my wife, from US to India, and India to US with no issue.

Use expedia.com, cheapflights.com

Hi DEVANandTINTIN

There are no restrictions on purchasing flights in Philippines or USA. I booked my fiance's ticket on delta online. But Delta does have a requirement for the purchaser to show up to a delta ticket office with credit or debit card with ID to verify. Some thing about fraud protection.

Other airlines is Cathay Pacific, Continental.

Try these sites:

Good luck and God Bless

I think you can do it online. Why not? Maybe it's just Korean Air policy. I hear a lot of fiance booking flights for their partners with no problem, except for the price. Try what iwaiting is saying.

Happy New Year!

Had the same feeling. I have booked and bought my ticket here in Kuwait (I'm still here and just confirmed it). Bound from Philippines to US. The Travel agent said that it is a (centralized) electronically system, so there will be no problem.

Have a safe flight.whistling.gif

I purchased my fiance's tickets from manila to portland oregon from delta as well. I went directly through the delta site as one-way for both her and her daughter. It was the cheapest way to go. We had no problems. I did have to go to the portland airport and validate my credit card as stated. I made sure they put a note in the computer stating I had done so. I also sent my fiance a copy of the card and letter stating I purchased the tickets, although she did not need them. Good luck.

An alternative is to send her the money and let her buy the ticket herself there, sometimes a good deal can be found this way also.

my husband bought me ticket online using his credit card, Delta Airlines from Manila to Raleigh, NC... had no problem at all

i just printed the e-ticket that was sent to my email, copy of credit card and 1 id... these 3 will be presented to the counter upon check in for verification...

btw, terminal fee (P750) and travel tax (P1,620) is not included when you purchase ticket... you have to pay these fee and tax before checking in...

Yes, I could send her money through Xoom, and she also has one of my Visa cards that I sent her. I just don't want her walking down the street w/ P39,000
