Cant Find Tax Returns?

Once again I'd like to thank everyone SOSO much for the fast replies, it really means alot to us to have a community like VJ around us My fiancee is currently on the phone and is ordering the transcripts free of charge.. This seems to be the best option as we dont have a fax machine. If someone could just clarify for us this is ok? And will the transcripts be acceptable scanned over to me? As there isnt going to be time for me to recieve them via mail.

Yes yes and yes. The transcripts are actually better than tax returns since they are official documents from the IRS.

Just call the IRS hotline at 1-800-908-9946 (or online at http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=232168,00.html) and order your transcripts for the missing years. Takes a few days by mail, online may be quicker.

Request tax transcripts for those years at 1-800-908-9946 (or online at http://www.irs.gov/i...=232168,00.html) it takes 5-10 business days...(usually 5)... u can request the W2s from work....

All you need is the tax transcripts--no need for the W-2s or 1099s or any other supporting documentation as that was already submitted to the IRS and verified when the transcript was created. Tax transcripts are the best proof of actually filing as they come from the IRS and are not easily forged. Ours took about 4 days to receive.

IRS you can pay on line and order, send a good quality copy only. Take your original to the interview.
