So finally after putting things together and going over and over and over the docs I send my petition. I live in Texas so herp derp I send it to the Texas service center! I mean if I had finished my petition a couple weeks earlier I could have hand delivered the thing since I was working in Dallas.

That was last week Tuesday. Then FINALLY I get this email:

Do_Not_Reply_Lockbox@dhs.gov to me

show details 12:33 AM (21 hours ago)

Dear Applicant/Petitioner:

Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the Vermont Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number [CENSORED]. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your application/petition. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your application remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your application/petition must be verified with USCIS.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE

Did I send my petition to the wrong place? Or did they do this because the Dallas people are too busy? Or jigga wha??? Is this my NOA1? I'm assuming not since I don't have the "Official Receipt Notice (form I-797)"

Thanks in advance.

Sort of, you will get an email from the VSC and that is where the NOA1 will come from, I got a similar email when I sent my packet in saying it was forwarded to the California Service Center.

Let the waiting begin!

Everyone sends their petitions to the texas service center. Texas service center does not process the K-1 petitions it is a sorting facility.

From there it is sent to VSC or CSC to be processed.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

the texas service center (not to be confused with the texas lockbox facility) is NOT a sorting facility but a full fledged service center that does not however process I-129F's.

The Texas lockbox sorting facility (not to be confused with the texas service center), is just that

PS

YMMV

Everything is cool no action necessary. Your NOA-1 (i-797) should arrive arrive in the mail shortly.

As has been previously stated all petitions (I-129F) are sent to the Dallas lockbox and then routed to either California (CSC) or Vermont (VSC).

Watch out for the herp derp in the future...

Good luck to you!

let me know how that 'hand delivery' works for you.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
