Hi Everyone, I am new to this site and just needs to know your understanding to my situation..

Firstly, I am a permanent resident of Canada residing currently in Canada and is married to a US Citizen since April of 2009. My husband sponsored me and everything went fine until my interview in August 2010, I was denied a visa and needed a waiver because of misrepresentation at the US border. We filed the waiver September 2010 and it was approved by Vermont in August 2011. I was then sent a letter from the US CONSULATE in MONTREAL requesting updated documents such as MEDICAL, POLICE CLEARANCE from my birth country GUYANA, my husband 2010 tax return and signed DS 230 form along with my passport before they issue my visa. We gathered all these documents and sent it to MONTREAL and it was confirmed that it delivered on September 09,2011.

It's now over 2 months and MONTREAL has not yet to send back my passport with my visa. We recently contacted them via email and there respond was, please read below

We received the requested documents. In order to issue your visa, your case required additional administrative processing. We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the immigrant visa program is to facilitate legitimate travel to the U.S. Nonetheless, the Consulate in Montreal, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive administrative processing. We are pleased to inform you that the process is now complete and we will do all we can to see that the visa is adjudicated promptly.

Can someone be kindly enough to let me know what really they mean, I am so confused and frustrated at the moment with this visa processing that I really can't think right.. It's so very hard being here without my husband, we have 16month old twin boys, so i am sure you all can imagine my frustration.. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks so much

It basically says your AP is over and they are trying to get the visa to you as quickly as they can. So it being Montreal... another 4 months ish!

You can also call DOS and get updates from them directly over the phone instead of trying to rely on Montreal emails. You can ask them if the visa is printed yet and they will be able to tell you yes or no and if it has been mailed out yet as well.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I am a Citizen of the United States of America. 04/16/13

Looks like your visa is forthcoming.

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

thanks but at montreal work rate, i'm sure i have a long wait more, its frustratin that we waited over 2 and all the difficult parts are over with and yet just to print my visa its taking them forever, but thanks again, hoping i get my passport back very soon :)

try to get hold of them on phone and ask if the visa is issued or not.....no worries the visa will be issue to you soon.

Good luck to you and your marriage...God bless

Unfortunately Montreal does not take phone calls, we always email them but they usually takes over 2-3wks to reply, we're just hoping anytime soon the passport will be sent to me, tired of waiting and frustrating to look after twin boys 16months old all by myself :(, thanks again :)

You bet Op, I understand your frustration over the long wait, but it's almost over now.

Look at the bright side of things, you've come a long ways from a denial, a waiver and misrepresentation.

Hi Everyone, just want to say thanks very much for taking your time and replying to my question/concern yesterday.

I have great news, Montreal sent us an email notifying us that my visa package will be mailed out tomorrow and ready for pick up at DHL early next week. We are so extremely happy, after 2 years 1 month of separation, finally we will be reunited as a normal family. Expecting to travel to Florida, USA the day after recieving my passport next week..

Thanks again to you all for your help yesterday :)

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE, have faith..
