I'm sponsoring my husband for cr1 visa i'm US citizen do I have to be the sponsor because I'm the petitioner

I have been living outside the US for 11 years and I'm planning on traveling with my husband once he gets the visa I dont have income in US nor tax transcripts

DO I HAVE TO BE LIVING IN THE US IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO SPONSOR MY HUSBAND ???????????

If you don't plan on living in the US at least half the year your husband will not be able to keep his green card even if they give it to him. It is for living in the US. If that is not your intent then don't waste your money

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Please clarify what you are trying to do, sounds like he wants a visitor visa.

it's ok that you don't have income in the US (income from abroad, right?) and you can request for your transcripts from the IRS. what's important is you meet the guidelines, financial and otherwise =)

If you had income from a foreign country you should have been filing US tax returns with your foreign income. You still have to file US tax returns if you are a US citizen living abroad. The only way you get out of that is if you renounced your US citizenship.

If you did not have an income, you will still be a sponsor but you will have to have a US citizen co-sponsor your spouse.
