I just got my xray today for the company that im working with as that compulsory...and fiance and I are planning to go for that medical check up at St Lukes in two weeks from now...

Ive heard that one should only have 2 xrays a year? and must be taken after 6 months if ever needing... got me thinkin now, IS THIS TRUE?

I know St Lukes will have that xray also..will i need to get that again even if its only w2 eeks after i got this xray for the company im working with??

Share your experiences guys... thanks!

I cannot directly answer your question but everyone has a chance of developing cancer. You need an x-ray to see f there's already a cancer that could be prevented as early as now. How many times in your lifetime have you gone through an x-ray machine? At 28, I could still count in one hand.

Then there's another myth, people that use cellphone a lot has a greater chance of developing cancer. So that means, most Filipinos will die from cancer.

Happy New Year!

i'm assuming you are the fiance/e beneficiary? if so, then that company xray result is good enough(assuming also that the results show clear/negative etc)

the 2/year xray is ideal but if you need to have it, then it's out the window =)

Don't worry. You will probably get more radiation on the flight to the USA.

Modern X-rays, (and St. Lukes is relatively modern) have very low doses.

I've seen patients in hospitals that had Xrays taken more than 5x a year. It didn't kill them. It's fine don't worry. As long as you do it only few times in your lifetime. Tell St Luke's you just had an Xray, see if they let you have one soon.

i asked a friend doctor about it when i was about to take the medical exam coz i took a chest x-ray a month prior to my medical to be on the safe side that i won't have a problem regarding my x-ray in st. luke's. she told me, she's exposed to radiation and xrays almost like everyday. and it's not a big of a problem.
