You must a proof against cancellation of passport specially in k1 as they see your past traveling history. This will clear your case early. Approx one month after noa2 and no need to contact for case number. They will provide your petitions by mail.

since the DFA usually returns the old with the new, i'm guessing you don't know where the other one is anymore?

in anycase, if that trip to hongkong was just for vacation (3 days or a week) then you don't have to mention it on your forms.

if it was from 2006 to 2009,or up until recently, for instance, then you have the option whether to mention or not that long out-of-the-country stay. if you do decide, get an affidavit of loss for your old passport/get a police clearance from the HK etc. =)

You new passport has a notation on one of the pages that it is a replacement, I would have to look at mine to see what page but it is there.

Hi there, during my interview the Consul asked me if I had been to other countries and at same time it is also asked in the DS Forms, right? So I just answered consistently what I had written on my DS Form. I told the Consul that I had been to Australia, Canada, Singapore, Korea, Japan and Hongkong. I brought with me my 2 old passports during interview (just in case) because I have a renewed passport now, but the Consul didn't ask to see my passports. He just asked me if how long I stayed in all visits. All my travels were just short stay (3 weeks to 1 month most). I suggest you have to be honest answering in your DS Form and even to the Consul, we never know they will check on that, just in case at least you are telling the truth and take note the CO can easily check your travel history from immigration office. So if you stayed out of the country for more than 6 months, then you need to submit police clearance. I think you can also get an affidavit of loss. DFA has records of all issued passports. Good luck !
