Anyone STILL waiting since Feb?

Hi everyone,

I filed for ROC back in early February (the 4th) to the Vermont center. I completed biometrics early March. Ever since then I've heard nothing from the USCIS. I put in two service requests (in August and November) which both told me that the case is under review and to "wait 60 days" (which obviously did not help the first time they said it, as it's been over 90 days since my SR answer in August).

My case is very normal, no waiver we're both living together, sent in plenty of evidence, including a house title, insurances, bank accounts, credit cards, photos, affidavits, etc etc

Anyone else in the same situation? If so, please let me know that I'm not alone! ;)

It seems some people here are freaking out due to there not being any movement on their case, even when they applied as late as May, which makes me think I should be one step from jumping off a bridge by now.

Thanks

Have you checked I-751 February 2011 Filers thread? It's still active and you are not alone! Hang in there...

yes thats a long time it takes to remove conditions,it should be 4 to 5 months from start to finish.if you did not get a RFE or have a interview, then it has to be the back round check FBI,under review some thing is not clear to them.your back round checks goes to many data base agencys to check out your back round.and if all your evidence is true.just wait

Thanks everyone for your answers. I checked the February filers thread, but it's hard to know how many people there just didn't go back to tell everyone they got approved and how many are actually waiting.

Worrying to hear that maybe "something isn't clear to them". I'm a lawyer from Sweden who's been employed and paying taxes since I got a work permit, never been married before, etc, so I thought my background was pretty spotless (and my name isn't very strange and/or likely to be held up in a background check. No idea, I guess, what's taking so long.

it is not the backgroung check, it is the service center. i do not understand this why are they too slow in processing I-751. i am talking about Vermont Service Center.

Yeah I heard from more people that Vermont is really slow. I'm actually eligible to apply for citizenship already, and I know you can do that even while the I-751 is pending and that it supposedly forces adjudication of both. I just don't know if it's such a good idea to start one process before the other one is finished - just afraid it will jumble things up somehow and delay both.

It sometimes seems crazy to have to spend money for this process but if you are really anxious you could go to an Immigration attorney. I am friends with a Russian couple and his citizenship application was lost for two years. Plenty of excuses from U.S. but no action. He finally went to Immigration lawyer and it was solved in two days. $ 2000

I'd file for citizenship before I'd pay someone $2K. Lawyers don't speed up this process; it moves as fast as it moves.

NOA 2. Really?

Hi Exasperated. You aren't alone. We feel your pain too. We filed for ROC on March 10th. Had Biometrics on April 11. And have heard nothing since then. We also filed a service request at the 6 month time point and got the same response as you. "Your application is pending. Check back in 60 days." That sure was a BIG HELP! UGH!

According to VSC's Processing timeline, they are currently processing ROCs with a date of as far back as Feb 24, 2011. Of course we all know there are plenty of applications that have been proceessed through VSC with dates later than that all ready. So much for uscis's First Come, First Serve policy... Well, anyway, we are happy for the others, but sad for us as we still keep waiting. I think the Service Request process has shown itself to be worthless, so we are not planning to do that again. For now we will continue to wait...until the VSC Processing Timeline shows a Date of April 12 or later. The day that happens, if we have not had some kind of communication...RFE, Interview or Approval, then I am going to call my Senator and House Representative's offices. Until then, we will wait...frustratingly...as we watch a process unfold that in any other Private Sector Company would result in mass personnell firings or Company closures for this level of performance.....

We wish you Good Luck and hope you will receive word very soon.

Warm Regards,

Samby

Wishing Everyone Speed, Success, Happiness and Love,

Hello,

You are not alone...I'm a January filer then did a bio in Feb. In Jun we've got RFE then response in Jul. Since then I hear nothing back from them. I don't call for service request, but I'll file N400 because i'm eligible since yesterday. I heard that you can do this even your ROC is still pending. Hopefully by doing this could force USCIS to process the 10 yr green card and move forward...good luck.

Thank you kindly for your good luck wishes. I wish you the very best as well. Hopefully we'll all have a reason to celebrate soon. :)

Thank you so much grizzly for letting me know. Seems we're both in exactly the same boat (I'm already eligible for citizenship despite being a February filer because I was actually eligible to file for ROC all the way back in November 2010, but had to file at the last minute since I was hospitalized for several months at the end of 2010 and couldn't get things done faster (little did I know it would be such a long wait!). Keeping my fingers crossed for you and everyone else in our shoes. :)

Thanks coloso. And now VSC changes the processing time back to 6 months? A bit of a slap in the face in a way, though I'm not sure what kind of politics and goals are really behind the times specified on the website. Certainly can't be reality - either that or the april filers to VSC on our forum are all exceedingly unlucky.

Although looking on the bright side, when I complain about my case, now I can once again claim that I'm "3.5 months over the listed processing time", which I guess sounds more shocking than 20 days.

I read about someone contacting Senator Hutchison and getting a rude response from her aide that she has "far better things to worry about" than individual immigration issues. Me and my husband will certainly try every venue (regardless of whether I've already filed for citizenship or not - I feel I have the right to get a decision to the I-751 in a timely manner since, after all, I paid a specific fee for it). However, the track record for Texas state representatives is certainly not great when it comes to helping out in situations like these.
