Alrighty. I sent off my package this morning, and am crazy nervous about it getting there. I'm not so worried about not having enough supporting information etc., it's just the getting-to-the-right-people part that worries me.

I can't help but think about how many hands this stuff goes through. Yikes.

Sent off ROC in September! I didnt think id be this nuts with the waiting... AOS was quick, im worried mine will take 6 months:( My GC expires on the 14th, a month ago i sent HR at my work a copy of my extension letter and a letter attached, I havent heard anything since but I have this feeling they will want something more than that come the day after my gc expires.

What can they do? E verify me? What if the system shows something different? All I can do is make infopass appointment for I 551 stamp? Really cannot afford a lapse in my job.

8 sept filers have already been approved....

I did not send affadavits with my package but a whole bunch of joint stuff and a pictures of us at our wedding and since then. My husband is military ive heard of people getting FBI interviews if their SO is military....

Ahhhck!!!!

My husband works in HR and he said that companies don't have to re verify a green card, only work permits. So they shouldn't require anything from you. If it's a new job, the expired greencard and letter should work. If you're worried, make an Infopass and get a stamp. I did because I was worried about the cruise I went on and documentation. My employer hasn't asked me for a new greencard and mine expired Nov. 9.

Congratulations Inky and Somber Cat!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thank you Sapphire for your response! Calmed my nerves a little! I've worked for this employer for a year and a half. Long story short they have high expectations above the standard for the field and my impression it's in every department, it was explained in orientation. So I guess we will see, I dont have time for an Infopass appointment honestly but if that what it comes to...

Did you ship it Priority Mail? If so, did you sign up for package tracking? I put my Priority envelope in the post office mail box on Saturday morning, and there have been NO updates on it yet. I'm starting to get worried...

Mine had no updates on priority mail, they only scanned it when it left and when it arrived.

Approval notice arrived on the 8th, on blank regular paper. No DHS seal or anything looks like it was just done off a type writer, not even watermarked paper was used. It did come in a USCIS envelope though.

Hoping to get the card this week, Everyone keeps saying to call and get the tracking number for it but i'm going to hold off on calling USCIS for a tracking number for now and just see if it comes this week in the mail. If not then ill get a tracking number from them.

Well, they also have to follow the laws with this kind of stuff and in that regards you're fine. They can't technically ask you specific documents, they can ask you to verify your status so as long as you do that with your letter, they really shouldn't give you a hard time! And as for Infopass, not sure about your city and how far it is for you, but I was able to get an appointment at 7:50 a.m. in NYC and was in and out in about 30 minutes or so. It was pretty painless (I was expecting much much worse!!).

You can always hang onto it for the next 10 years! (not that the pain of dealing with USCIS is worth a nice picture...)

My experience with Infopass was really positive as well. I went almost 2 years ago when I was having issues getting a DL due to them not updating my name in their records. I was in and out in minutes, no line, everyone was super nice, and better yet- they actually fixed the problem.
