Fiance backed out from interview

I went through a K-1 with my first fiancee who did show up for the interview but really was not the kind of woman I thought she was. My first fiancee came over for 89 days and went back. While she was here with me she was corresponding with a bunch of men and I happened to see one email where she was discussing how to do a K-1 without really meeting. The guy was real slezzy and could not afford to go to visit her when she returned to her country. When she got back she was writing me saying she had made the biggest mistake of her life and wanted me to do another K-1. I sent in the second K-1 and a week later found out she was going to Germany for two weeks to meet a guy she had the hots for. I cancelled the application.

She did stay in touch with a friend of mine and after the K-1 with me she did a K-1 with a guy from Florida and decided at the last minute not to show up for the interview. Then she did another K-1 with a guy from Florida. She had decided to return to her country rather than marry him but supposidly he said he would not buy her a ticket and she had to marry him. She did and a month later took off and divorced him. I lost track of her after that but she was a woman who seemed like an angel but really was a devil and left a trail of broken hearts and busted dreams in the wake.

Hey Ray, she may be a unstable woman...

@Turbo guy - thanks for posting that. You can meet a woman who seems to be an angel, only to find a devil in her soul. (I met one that was in America like that.) Evaluate the whole family, not just the potential fiance and look for manipulation and lies early on. It is easy to fool someone that wants to believe everything a pretty girl tells him. It is much harder to fool someone that doesn't trust anyone or what they say until they prove to be worthy of that trust.

@lilly1986 talking about "Why would someone look to another country?" You are correct when you said that you do not understand. There is no need to imply we are fools. The success rate of American marriages are 50% but much higher from Philippines/American. You have no clue and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It irks me to hear people imply that every Filipina woman is only marrying an American for a Green Card. Go on the Philippine Forum and post that, if you dare... lol.

I agree, write in and withdraw it. But I think you'll be fine though, I mean...what are the honest chances of you falling in love with aNOTHER woman from another country. I'm still in shock (happy one) that I ended up falling in love with someone so far away....certainly wouldn't have looked for that given the difficulty of the process. Don't lose sleep over it and be glad you found out her true colours early on.

Hey Ray, she may be a unstable woman...

She definately was unstable. In my life I seem to be a magnet for unstable women. My wife is the exception and is a wonderful and amazing one. When I told that story I just hit a few of the highlights. I think if my first fiancee ever told her whole story it would make a fascinating movie or book. To the best of my knowledge she filed as an abused spouse and stayed in the country. The sucker she married did terrible things to her. An example is he bought her a pearl necklace. Isn't that just the worst thing anyone could do to a woman that he cared about?

Well, it is always nice to get closure but to be honest if she contacted him and said she had thought things over and wanted to go ahead with things again my advice would be to run. The girl has problems and is going to make any man miserable. There is no way she is ever going to spend a few decades as a happy, faithful wife.

I think in general she means people who meet because they're looking for someone on dating sites... not all people from the Phil.

I am the result of a Filipina woman and an American man, and my parents met in college.

My dad gets asked weird questions like "do you work for the military?"

But my second cousin in the Phil met a guy on a dating website, did a K-1 after meeting one time or something, she came here and got married, divorced tow years later because he turned out to be abusive. Then she lived with my Lolo and Lola and now randomly she's married to an Indian guy who immigrated here too.

And my mom ALSO has friends who have perfectly happy marriages that started out that way.

 That kind of got off topic, but anyhow, I'm very sorry for OP, and like everyone else said...at least you didn't marry her. She sounds like a scammer.

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

I bet Ray you learned quite a lot dealing with her. I could say the same about my ex. I have hope that when my turn comes I'll have the success that you now have now. Thanks for sharing your story. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:
