Hello All,

Thank you for all the conngratulations! I just wanted to add what little I could to the advice everyone has given here regarding the interview in Montreal. I had an afternoon appointment and it said 1:45 on my appt. letter,, and to be there no more than 20 minutes early.. my fiance has a metal knee it always causes a delay at xrays. So we went at 1 p.m. We were the only ones there. We went inside the first door and the guard came out and looked at my paper. We told him about the knee and xrays.. he said to come back at the time of our appointment so we smiled and went back outside. We just stood at the door outside instead of leaving, and by about 1:30 there were people lining up behind us. Everyone appeared to have different visa purposes. At 1:45 the guard came to the outside door and let us in after a look at our paper, and then a lady inside the door looked at it some more and then we were allowed in and through the xray. I had two accordian files inside a whole food grocery bag. He just asked me if it was documents and put it through the xray. We went downstairs and waited by the elevator for about another half hour and the room filled up with about 20 people. A guard finally came in and said to get on the elevator to the 19 th floor and go to booth 14 for a ticket. We got in as you've all said and headed to the back of the elevator. Someone near the front still has to push the button for 19, so we looked back and said can you push 19 please LOL There are only two choices, 19 and 22 I think, but someone has to push it! After that it was easy. We got our number, and then after seeing the first lady she gave us a paper to take back to 14 to pay the 350. She asked me for the bare minimum... not even the letter of intent or the 156K. Just original of birth certificate, marr. & divorce cert, and the medical. Also the 134 and the 2010 income tax return.

Then we waited about 10 more minutes to be called to the booth with the "dreadlock" lady... a gorgeous young lady she is. She asked us how we met, how he proposed, when were we getting married, and typed while we gave her short answers to these questions. She handed us two pages to read and said your visa is approved and you should get it in about a week. We had to make her repeat it as we were shocked that it was over. :hehe::rofl:

And that was it!!! We had a look at the beautiful view of the city, and went on our way. We were out in less than an hour!

Thanks again to all the help we got on this site... we paid a lawyer when we started the process and that was something I do not recommend unless you have special issues. Thank you all!

Congrats again! Though stressful, the interview is seriously the easiest part of the whole thing. Glad it went well for you. :)

Glad to hear your interview was quick & easy! I got the dreadlock lady too, she's a sweetheart. :)

Congrats again, I was with the dreadlock lady too, my second time around at the window, she didn't even ask for the I 134, I think because I had already submitted it with packet 3. I agree, she was definitely very nice :)

No, you only pay once. Some people chose to pay online and some chose to pay in person. If you pay in person it must be in US cash- nothing else, no debit, no credit, not even Canadian cash. If you pay online you bring the receipt as proof.

Is that the only and last fee we have to pay for the visa?

For the K-1 part yes. You still need to pay when you adjust status after you get married.

Isn't it like $6 when you POE?.... some have had to pay that and some have not....

If you POE by plane the $6 fee is included in airfare. If you POE by land you have to pay it. The fee must be in USD, I believe.
