Do some cases skip NVC and go directly to Consolate

When we received our N02 it stated The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. But in the K-1 Visa time line it shows it should go to the NVC first. Another couple that received the N02 the same day as us, has been notified of Packet 3 delivery today, and theirs also did not go through the NVC. When I call the NVC it says they have not received the information.

So I guess some petitions for Guangzhou, China go directly there instead of the NVC. Has anyone else experienced the same steps? And what is the earliest you can receive the interview once the P3 has been sent back in to Guangzhou, China?

Thanks for your help, as I will be returning to China in early December and it would be nice to attend the interview with Mei while I am there. Good luck to everyone through this journey.:innocent:

All NOA2s will say this. Ours said the same thing, but all petitions go through the NVC on the way to the consulate. They have to assign a case number etc., etc.

Unless there is something diff about China.

Actually HALF of them say this. There are two standard form letters.

ALL approved petitions go through NVC on their way to the consulate. ALL.

all go through NVC.

Some casefiles get pegged to use SAFEFILE pipe.

Please use one of the two search tools here, find 'SAFEFILE' and read a bit?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

So it seems as if even though the petition will go through NVC, it is possible to receive your P3 packet prior to the NVC receiving the petition. I guess this is so the paperwork can be sent in to the Consulate prior to receiving the NVC number. Thank you for your information on SAFEFILE, I will read that information :)
