I made a huge mistake on my fiancee G325

I filled out the G325 form for my fiancee since she doesn't speak any English. I made a huge mistake that I didn't discover until today while practicing for the interview. She has an interview with the US Consulate in Montreal for the K1 Visa on Friday November 4th. I swapped birthdays I filled her mother’s birthday on the father’s spot and her father’s birthday on the mother’s spot on the G325a form.

Her birth Certificate is correct but we didn’t have it handy when we filled out the G325a form initially. Should I contact the consulate and let them know about the error or should I just let it go unless they bring it up.

I am so stressed out I don’t know what to do?

Has anyone made such a huge mistake on the G325A form?

Not too big a deal...

Simply prepare a new G-325A for your fiance to take to the interview. Odds are it won't be brought up, but if it is simply present the new G-325A and explain the mistake. There was no intent to mislead, just a simple mistake. Better to have the revised G-325A just in case.

She should have no problems at all.

Best of luck

DO NOT STRESS!! Just have her complete another one, admit the error (the difference in her parents birthday is NO DRAMA. Seriously. They're not going to deny her because her parents birthdays are wrong :P) and hand over the correct form at the interview.

Seriously DO NOT WORRY! This is not a "huge mistake" at all. Its not like you thought her name was Mary Jo and instead is Lisa Jean... THAT would be a big mistake. Many people have made tiny errors like this, it's not a deal breaker :D

We made a similar mistake on our G325. My wife (then fiancee) is from Vietnam and her parents don't even know their exact birthdays. They only know the year of birth. This issue never came up as an RFE and it also never came up at the interview. My guess is that your mistake won't be a huge issue.

I didn't even put my father's birth date because I couldn't remember, I was going to check and fill it in but I forgot, and submitted the form with it blank. It was never brought up. Maybe you could mention it at the interview.

I disagree. She SHOULD bring this up and hand over the new form. This won't be an issue at all, I agree there, so definitely best to bring it up.

Thank you guys for your replies. I checked her DS-160 form I made the same mistake there too because I was trying to make sure everything matched the G325a at the time. She never caught it because I was filling out everything I knew and only asking her when it was a question that I didn’t know about. Should she fill out another DS-160 also. I just don’t want them to deny her visa because of that. My fiancée will kill me!!!!

OMG I should have hired a lawyer I don’t know why I was doing this on my own!!!

Do it if it makes you feel better. Then she can take it with her to the interview. It's a minor thing. She's not going to get denied. Also don't feel bad, I would guess 95% of applications (including the ones done by lawyers!) will have some kind of error somewhere.

That's fine. Take the corrected form. They'll tell you it's not a big deal but you have the replacement forms to give them.

I am planning to be at the interview myself so I will translate if I need to. But that’s besides the point.

Query - she doesn't speak english? What language does she speak? It would be best to bring a translator if she doesn't speak either french or english. It's hard to get honest questions from her with you translating them. I'm not saying for SURE that you would lie but when asking her questions about you, you would know the answers and answer for her.

She does speak french fluently if they don't want me to translate that's fine they can provide their own translator if they want to. Thank you all for your responses I just hope she doesn't get picky CO during her interview. You know they can always find a reason to deny someone.

We gonna bring the corrected forms just in case they ask for them.
