I think that my fiance and I are thinking way to hard, and overanalyzing this, but we were wondering what others have used to prepare their K-1 visa packet. Like, what did you use to hold it all together, not entirely sure what would work out nicely...and whats considered ok, other than knowing no staples. I know this is silly, but can you please help!?!?! Any other information regarding anything to do with the K-1 visa, to help our chances of being approved would be greatly appreciated!!! =)

That's exactly how USCIS used to explain it on their website. However, that page is gone and has been replaced by this page http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=880264337c77e210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

Also these things listed in an earlier post do NOT go to the USCIS with the I-129F petition. They are taken to your interview in London.

Yup...whenever in doubt consult with the USCIS website.... I believe the recommended fasteners are ACCO..... Try to swipe some fasteners from work as they only sell them in bulk at the office supply store!

There is also this link: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=ff053d146a7ee010VgnVCM1000000ecd190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=fe529c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

It doesn't matter how you assemble it as they'll pull it apart anyway. I personally didn't hole punch anything (and I advise against it as someone who does a LOT of paperwork when the holes aren't the same it's annoying). I used binder clips and that was all.

Try to STEAL them from work? I suggest asking they likely won't care but at least you asked first. "swiping" is stealing. Stealing is a crime.

People here regularly stress out about how to prepare the package. The USCIS people will pull things apart to assemble them as they prefer. Therefore, simply use one or more binder-clips and otherwise relax.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

That's a great picture, and my own offices have resembled it, but if this is meant to be funny, please remember that others here are truly stressing out about the processing of their petition packages, and photos like this do NOT help. If this photo is not of a USCIS area (which I suspect it is not), then you should so state and apologize for the implication. Thanks, si man. Edited by TBoneTX

I posted this photo so people who ARE going though the process would get a few laughs, therefore REDUCING stress. Give people some credit that they have the intelligence to understand the humor in this. My K-1 package package was recently submitted, so I am one of those "other" people. Addtionally, and ironically my sister was a long time USCIS agent in the St Alban's Vermont processing office and was the one who sent me the link to the photo.

If you are demanding an apology you are way out of line. HOWEVER, if any of the K-1 applicants found the above mentioned photo as personally distressing, please state so an i will send a PM with a personal apology.

Also:

How about your Signature line that reads "Among those 99.4% hosed at the consolute". Isn't that going to severely "stress" people that may be applying to that consulate? I think you owe everyone an apology and statement that 99.4% are NOT treated unfairly at that consulate ! Practice what you Preach!
