To the people who got their cards: What is the first sign that you pass? Is it the letter from USCIS letting you know you are receiving the card soon or the USCIS website update about your status when you check?

If you have signed up for email updates or check the website frequently, your first sign of being approved is seeing "Card Production Ordered" in an email or online status.

Otherwise your first sign of approval is when you receive a letter from USCIS saying you're approved. That usually shows up 3-5 days - 2 weeks before the card itself.

Some people told me that the USCIS will always send applicants a letter asking for more evidences before they decide to either interview the applicants or just send them the cards. Is this true? Because I haven't gotten that letter yet. From the time that I went to take my biometrics back in 11/29/11 until now, I haven't heard anything from them. Is this normal?

Aside from the 4 of us who have been approved, EVERYONE is in the same position as you. It's perfectly normal not to hear anything for months and months. Basically there's a backlog of applications at both offices (though Vermont's backlog is far worse).

Believe me, if anyone had received an RFE (a letter requesting further information), they'd have posted all the details on here. And RFE's are certainly not sent out to every applicant.

Some people will get an RFE, some people will get an interview, but most will just get their approval. There's no rhyme, or reason, to the time it takes - and sadly it's certainly not first come, first served. Hopefully you'll have some good news soon.

I don't know, I want too! But well, it will be a question of finances more than anything else.

As we all know, this process is not cheap :-T

02/12/2012 - ROC Done, Green Card Received

09/15/2015 - Naturalization Ceremony

Haha taht makes sense. I think i will hopefully if I can afford it. For ROC I put money aside each pay check for a few months beforehand so will try and do that again.

Can't wait to never have to deal with immigration paperwork ever again. :blush:

Nov 7, 2012 N-400 delivered to Phoenix lockbox, signed by Arndt & case priority date

Nov 9, 2012 Case Touched, NOA date

Nov 13, 2012 Got text/e-mail with case number & the check was cashed :)

Nov 14, 2012 Case updated online to say biometrics apt. notice is on its way!

Nov 16, 2012 Received NOA & biometrics apt. letter

Nov 28, 2012 Biometrics apt.

Jan 4, 2013 In line for interview!

Jan 5, 2013 Scheduled for interview!

Jan 10, 2013 Received interview letter

Jan 19, 2013 Received yellow letter dated 1/16 asking me to bring more passport pics to the interview

Feb 11, 2013 Interview

Mar 8, 2013 Got an online update - oath scheduled!

Mar 13, 2013 Oath letter received

Mar 22, 2013 Oath! Officially an American citizen!
