I think what happened? 's advice is dead on, dont rush it with a court wedding which is meaningless in his culture, and would look shady in the eyes of the embassy. Take the advice and have a proper nigerian wedding....it will be more authentic and mean more to him and his culture as well. good luck

thank you i am definately sticking to after the wedding..i agree it makes more sense dat way

I'm confused....Is he banned from the US for his misrep, and if so, for how long and exactly what are the series of numbers in the letter that describes the ban. If not banned for visa fraud as you put it, why not? If he is banned, the series of numbers will tell you whether the inadmissability can be waived or not, and if it can, when.

If he is banned, then you need a lawyer who is an expert on waivers--it is a special section of immigration law, and most immigration lawyers don't have a clue.

well i do hope not, but there wasnt anyrhing written on his passportand he wasnt told he was banned from the us...we have been told by the lawyer he will nid a waiver under misrepesentation law...so until he goes for the interview no clue to how severe his case is...

thanks we met in nov last yr and since we sin each oda twice and have proofs up to date for a bonafide relationship and intend to continue to gather more proof ...thanks for your reply... he doeshv a age misrepresentation nd marriage from trying to get a visa before,so the issue gets complicated but a lawyer advised we stay with d age and marital status he once used so all we deal with is d visa fraud...what do you think

So he has lied about his age ( why ? ) and tried for a previous marriage based visa ( to the US ? ) What happened to that marriage ? Where did you meet ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

He will now have to produce divorce documents ( and maybe marriage records) for that marriage. Sounds like it is time for a very good lawyer. Did your lawyer explain the issues with multiple misrespresentations ?

Agreed.

So far, there's a fake Schengen visa and lying on forms - misrepresentation ban. Not sure how do you and he plan to fight this, but I'd be walking away right about now. He seems a tad bit desperate to get into US and you just may be his meal ticket in if you stick it out and pay $$$$$ for lawyer to fight the ban(s).

Good luck in any case.
