Can I transfer my interview appointment to someone else?

Hi,

I have been on here briefly in the past and received some great help and friendly encouragement. Thanks for that.

However, my fiance arrived in the US by other means. We have been living in NYC together now for 2 months, and things are great and we are happy. However, we still have our Nov 16th interview appointment for her fiance visa. I was wondering if it's possible for me to transfer this appointment to someone else? Obviously, the recipient must be to a particular point in the process to be able to take advantage, but assuming they are only waiting for the interview, how can I transfer it to them?

I ask for two reasons: 1) for informational purposes, and if it IS possible 2) to transfer the appointment to someone in this online community. I don't know yet how I would choose the recipient, but let's first address whether or not this is possible and take it from there.

Thanks all.

Adding: this is for a Cuban K-1 visa. Thanks again.

You can call and cancel the appointment. Then someone else who is waiting can get the open appointment.

You cant tell them you want a specific person to have the appointment it doesn't work that way.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

So my question is how is your fiance here legally or not? NO you can't transfer an interview just cancel it but then you applied for 129f and you have been approved so why not the interview? If she does not have interview then how is she going to stay her legally?

so i'd have to coordinate the timing with the person who gets the appointment? in other words, call to cancel, and moments later my "friend" calls and picks it up? is there a delay of any kind? i know a lot of Cubans use the fiance visa as a way to bring over family members etc, and i'd really like to reward two people who are actually in love, rather than leave it to chance so some guy can bring over his 3rd cousin. thx for the reply.

she's here legally under wet-foot/dry-foot. no longer a need for an interview, as under those terms, she cannot leave the US until her status is adjusted and she get's her green card (usually takes 1 year) OR we get married (which may still happen but we aren't rushing it, just enjoying finally being together without any additional stress).

She's Cuban. There's a completely separate set of rules for Cubans. If they can get into the US without being stopped then they can usually get a green card. Cubans don't need to enter through a POE, and they can be paroled by any immigration officer simply by asking for it. They're eligible for adjustment after one year in the US. It's called the Cuban Adjustment Act. A change in the law in 1995 requires that the Cuban actually be on US soil in order to qualify. Before that, Cubans caught at sea in US territorial waters by the Coast Guard could apply. This is called the "wet foot/dry foot" policy.

Unless you have a friend in the Visa Unit at the US Interests Section, you probably will have no control over this. A visa interview appointment is a time slot on a list that's maintained by the consular officers. It's not something that belongs to you that you can give or trade with someone else.

The appointment is not yours to trade. If your fiancee cancels then the schedulers will book another person.

Only the Embassy can schedule an interview. You can only cancel it. They will take it from there; don't worry.
