My POE was Boston and it didn't take longer than half hour for me to get through customs. 3 hours and 50 minutes is more than enough, don't worry ;)

Hey There,

My flight is on Nov 28th and my layover will be in NY for 3 hr and 50 min. Will this be enough time for POE or do I have to rebook my connection flight??

Thanks for the response (=

Will be just fine. Figure at least one hour, could be more depending on how crowded it is. Since it is around Thanksgiving, figure it will be crowded.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

It really varies on the airport you are flying into and the time you arrive. For us it took about 45 minutes (I flew back to the states with my fiance so we could use the USC line) and this was at 6:40AM. The majority of that time (because the CBP/Document Stamping only took 15 minutes) was spent going through the red line at the second customs checkpoint because she had an excess of $20,000 USD on her so we had to file some papework. The rule of thumb is though keep at least 3+ hours between flights if you are connecting (we weren't because I live 2 hours from Miami and it was a non-stop flight out of Buenos Aires).
