Hi guys,

This forum is great, it is like a little support group. So our case was completed at NVC on the 14th of October 2011. We haven't got a date for interview yet which will take place in London. Any tips/deas regarding the interview will be helpful and appreciated. The more I read threads here the more tense I get.

Thanks in advance and good luck for those who are in the same boat as I am.

Hello,

Firstly, Congrats!!!! I know how this feels as i have just been through this recently.... Around the 12-16 of November you will be told when your interview date is which is probably going to be in December now... The reason am saying this as my case was approved on the 29th August at the NVC and they start to schedule your interviews around the 10-12th of each month...Next step is get all your injections you need to travel to the US also book your medical as soon as you can. Your case number will begin with LND... My interview was on the 10th October and it went smoothly...

Good luck

Get your police cert now if you do not already have it. You will need it for the medical. Once you get that the Knightsbridge doctors will send your info to the embassy for your appointment. You will then get a link of what to complete and bring. Read the notes here about what you can not have in line, like phones, car key remotes, etc. Learn from our errors! Good luck!

Thank you so much for these valuable infos. My husband gets frustrated with immigration stuff. So I figured this is the only way I am going to feel better by finding someone that is going through the same situation.

So we should wait for the interview letter to do medical?

You have done it! Welcome to the US in advance. I know that they schedule the interviews on the 2nd week of the month for the following month, but still, I call them even though I know there won't be any news :(. I get dissapointed but it is so hard to remain quiet for their emails to hear about any updates. I hope the interview goes smoothly for my husband and hope it is in teh beginning of Dec. Congratulations! This certainly is not an easy journey.

LOL... I was like that always ringing them but its the only way to get information from them... At this point i already had my police certificate which takes around 3 days if you want it quick or 10 working days.. I called the the NVC on 12th September and they told me my interview was on 10th October!!!!! I called Knightsbridge doctors to arrange my medical and you need to bring your passport, police certificate and payment which is 210 pounds... Dont panic about the interview its easy and straight forward...The officer only asks a few questions and its all don.. I am waiting for my passport which has not arrived and am stressing out!!

Yeah, tell me about it!! And they get all annoyed and rude. That got me going many times but I controlled myself. He already got his police report and actually that got us late for getting an interview date, because they had requested a police report from somewhere different than where he originally got at the first time. Now instead of November we will get something in December. Good thing, you guys don't have thanksgiving in England. It is 2 days holiday here in November, the 24th and 25th.

So they didn't ask you about your relationship or anything like that at the interview? I am skeptical about what kind of questions they ask or want to see regarding your marriage (Not sure if you are married yet). Maybe, it is just a piece of cake and I am just driving myself insane about it.

Hey, SO close to the end!! Dont worry about the interview seriously... As long as they have all the documents they need its a piece of cake for your husband.. They asked when we got married and what the weather is like in California! I had a big folder of picture's of our wedding and honeymoon but he wasn't interested..All they want is all the documents, to see you in person, ask a few questions and get your finger prints... You have nothing to hide so its straight forward... good luck and i know the wait time s so hard..

Hey Maya, I'm waiting too and I ring every night when I get in from work, it's sort of become ritual! I could probably recite the 'full for November' mantra off by heart. I can't imagine what their call log looks like for me, both me and hubby ringing and hounding them all the time! Thing is I know that if I miss a day I'll stress out thinking that's the one time they'll have different information for me.

Let me know if you hear anything!

Ready for my grand ol' timeline? Alrighty then!

I do not recall if you can get the medical now or if the docs needed anything else. You can call them and ask as they are happy to take your money. I think it best if your case be in the Embassy first so that the medical info does not get there first and then get misplaced.

Thanks guys. I think that we will hold until we get the actual interview letter that way there isn't a possiblity of the ambassy loosing those medical records.

Hello,

Just re-iterating what everyone else says make sure you have your police record for the medical (I had mine today) and I got the impression that having it made the whole thing go A LOT quicker. Also start getting your vaccinations in order, they are free on the NHS and pricey at Knightsbridge doctors, plus some live vaccinations are two part and the four week break in-between could set you back a month.

Good luck everyone!

if you get vaccinations that require more than one shot, you only need one to pass muster for the medical forms, however go ahead and get what you can while it is free. Some things like varicella you are out of luck with since that is not a UK offer unless you got private and spend way too much money.
