Dear All,

I have a conditional green card and I’d like to apply I-751 to remove my Conditional status but my husband will have job in Singapore for US company branch, My question is do I need to stay in US until my I-751 approved, or I can go with my husband to Singapore, and get my approval at US Embassy in Singapore ?

Thanks for your information.

hi yuwa, you need to stay here, when you file the 1-751 to remove conditions, you will receive a asc appiontment letter to take your biometrics, picture and finger prints at your local uscis center, from start to finish it should take about 4 to 5 months if you don't have any problems with your back round checks.

As a green card holder you can't be absent from US for more than 6 month. You need to maintain your residence in US. Which means at least 180 days out of the year you have to be there, otherwise you can loose your status, as immigration will consider that you abandoned your residency. Since your husband works overseas, you may be able to obtain an exception, but better check on that with USCIS.
