First of all thanks for all the great advice already received (particularly Nich-Nick!) but yet more is needed :D

NVC have given us our new London case number but haven't forward it to the embassy yet. I'd like, as most VJers would, to expedite this as I have children waiting to start school in the .US in January. This means I'd like to go ahead and book the medical for next week with my new LND case number. What is troubling me though is thatthe case MIGHT go into AP, which I have heard can hold up the process for a while. Not only that but we have no guarantee NVC will send it on to the embassy before the medical results are done...so;

1)Would the medical results likely get lost if the embassy received them before they received the actual petition and documents.

2)How long does NVC keep regular files for before passing them on.....any idea of london timelines would be great

3)and most importantly, would it be too premature to go ahead and book the medicals already?

2) NVC kept my case for 4 business days before sending it to London - but that was back in the end of july/beginning of August.

3) A didn't book his medical until it was logged at the London embassy. When he booked it - Knightsbridge was booking 3 weeks out.

Not sure about your other questions, but thought I'd share what I know/went through :)

Hi I am going back to March this year but as soon as I knew NVC had case I called got NLD Number then called medical got an appointment, u dont have to wait for UK Embassy to receive file to book appointment as long as you have LND number go ahead get appt booked for medical it only takes a few days for London to receive this from NVC. They will send out package 3 which is just a letter telling you to put together documents needed for interview see thread on here Nich Nick is great for these threads, when medical is done and completed they will send results to London Embassy who when they receive this usually a few business day they will log it received then just a question of waiting for interview. I have been through the process with London and know what its like. good luck with process keep the faith, its well worth it in the end, though very very stressfull, my god I ended up with 10 weeks off work with the process last year. albeit paid leave but mega takes its strain. :-)))) xxx
