DO I NEED A SPONSOR?

I currently make $10,000 more than 25% above the poverty level and I have a decent amount of money in savings. However, the last three years tax returns are well below the poverty level because I was a student and not working full time. Does anyone think I should have a co-sponsor just in case? I have a letter from my employer saying that my position outlook is good and I have pay stubs from the past several months.

I just don't want him to get to the interview thinking I'm fine as a sponsor on my own because I make enough money NOW and then take into consideration that I made below the poverty line for the last three years.

Does anyone have similar situations? What should I do??? HELP!!!

although your present financial status is looking good, the requirement will still include your last 2-3 years of income tax returns (proof/determinant of the likelihood that you are financially stable most of the time). now since you are a little of the opposite, to be on the safe side, you should get a co-sponsor which to the uscis is a guarantee you'll have back up (in supporting your beneficiary) should you need one in the future. :)

I would get a joint sponsor. my wife was my sponsor and she currently earns 65000. unfortunately she was a student up until this year so had no tax returns but we were told by nvc that her wages so far this year would cover it. i had my interview today and was told i need a joint sponsor. I know if i could go back in time i would go for the better safe than sorry approach and got a joint sponsor. It doesn't cost anything extra or take any longer so you have nothing to lose.
