Hello fellow friends at Visa Journey! :)

When submitting your paperwork to the US Embassy in Manila for a visa interview, do they return all of your original documents to you? If not, what documents do they keep?

What are the all of the required documents during your visa interview? And St. Luke's? :)

Thank you for all of your help!

Your friends at Visa Journey! :)

Hi, I recently had my interview at USEM last Friday I would advise to photocopy the docs that you will show them. As for my experience they took the copy of my fiance's ITR 2010, W2, Employment Certificate and copy of his policy life insurance since I'm his beneficiary. The Filipino (upon screen interview) will ask questions and would need proof and will staple it with the Forms then it'll be forwarded to the consul. So if you still want to keep the original docs a copy would be good.

For St.Luke's, you would need 4 2x2 photos, SLEC Online Registration, copy of NVC/NOA2 if you don't have NVC (just in case), copy of Biographic info of your passport, your passport and of course the money amount to PHP 9,3xx.00

Good luck on your medical and interview....medical is tougher than the interview though yes.gif

:ot: That sounds too early. I think thats what you have to show during AOS to prove that the marriage his for real.

Happy New Year!

ok, as to my interview last October 11. They asked the original live birth, annulment papers, annotated marriage contract, nbi clearance, I-134, ITR 2010, W2 2010, official divorce papers, and pictures. With the ones I mentioned, only the pictures and divorce papers were given back to me. I even told the filipino screener that I have scanned copies ( so that they will give me back those original documents, but he told me they needed the original document and not the copy) - I am not pretty sure why I am reading some VJ saying a copy is ok and they were able to go away with it. Why had they not accepted the scanned copy I have instead of taking away those original documents :(

ok, let me just give insight to what I did have had with regards to pictures, the pictures I presented mostly involve me and my fiance, well two of suh was with m kids, with caption of course. No kissing? I think it depends ont he kiss, there was a picture there where we kissed but not the intimate one..its the funny one :D Wacky kiss if there is such..hehhehe I just think with pictures, the best pictures to present are those which are not really studio shots..something which tell a story behind the faces there is in every picture.nnAnd yeah..it is best when its there's its in a Happy mood :D

During the interview, Do we need to bring a copy of the entire package of the I-129F, the one we sent for filling the petition?

Thank u..:)

it's a good idea to have a copy of the I-129F packet, including original receipts. You may need something from it at the interview. Or, the Embassy may lose something, like what happened in our case.

Also, you likely will need your I-129F packet for the CFO.

I would trust my personal information with the US Embassy, but I would be leery of what personal information I would give the CFO. Even PAL employees can't be trusted, as an attempt was made to use my credit card info to make a purchase from the Philippines. Luckily, my credit card company blocks all foreign transactions unless specifically authorized for each transaction. I couldn't think of anything in the I-129F packet the CFO would need. Just make sure your fiancee knows you mother's maiden name, and you should be good to go.

Off the top of my head, two items come to mind that the CFO would need. One is the petitioner's mother's maiden name, which is on the G-325A, and which many beneficiaries won't know without looking it up. The other thing is the petitioner's income tax return or tax transcript, which shows the petitioner to be single.

I don't recommend bringing along the I-129 packet for any transactions with PAL.

I just know of one case where someone went to the CFO with an ton of documents, and they were asked to provide photocopies of it all. Not the photocopies they brought with them just in case, but from a place near the CFO that would "certify they were all true copies." So convenient there happened to be such a place close by.

The wife just brought her passport with the visa inside, and a photocopy of the visa. Other than a desperate call to me to learn my "secret middle name", she had no problem.

I've seen a couple of stories here on VJ where the CFO asked for a specific document, the person didn't have it, and the CFO let it slide. That was Chinook's experience at PRISM too.

However, more often than not, the CFO is going to require you to submit the documents they want. I advocate playing it safe by bringing everything along.
