Hello, I just got this email from NVC:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website:

Yes I did send my DS-3032 last week so I do understand they are saying it is accepted... but my husband did not pay the AOS fee yet... why are they saying it's paid ? lol ... Or is this an automated message that everyone gets? I'm confused!! :bonk:

Also last question, Does the Affidavit of support package needs to be approved by NVC BEFORE i can pay the DS-260 fee and submit my documents? Or can i do this at the same time as the petitioner sends the AOS package? Thank you!

No, the AOS package doesn't need to be approved before you can pay the IV bill and send the DS-230 package. My husband and I haven't sent our AOS documents yet, but we've already been billed for the IV fee. We're planning to send the two packages at the same time. (I don't know the answer to your first set of questions, though.)

Well that's an odd email blink.gif Seems like the person who sent the email copied and pasted from two basic scripts, but shouldn't have. Just to make sure though, call NVC up tomorrow (or whenever you can) and ask about it. It's probably just a clerical error though.

And no, you can pay the IV fee whenever you want: before sending the AOS, while it's being reviewed, or after it's accepted. I would suggest paying it asap ;)

uhm - someone asking? well, NVC will ask, eventually, about 3 months later, as they normally follow a 'postal processing' calendar.

Most people here follow Ling Che's shortcuts for NVC processing, found here on the wiki (use a pc when you log in again, can find it easily) and instead of 'waiting for someone asking it of you' - folk using Ling Che do something else.

The 'way to go' is to wait a few days after payment, check the online payment portal again - and when the payment status is marked 'paid' then some new things show up, magically, for you (or the USCitizen) to download from the online payment portal -

--payment receipt

--Barcoded coversheet

a set for AOS, a set for IV. Download and print these, include these 2 pages with each thing you submit (note they are different for each set)

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Marie and Sam - I think NVC is confused, based on what has transpired so far.

Suggest the USCitizen Spouse get busy with logging in to the online payment portal, and study Ling Che for the weekend. Since yer Canadian, have him study Saylin's wiki piece as well, as there are specific things he must do that others will not do.
