For the visa interview in Montreal, under List of Documents sections it states "police certificates from all places lived since age 16." Our question is, are all of the police certificates required or is the one police certificate from where I live now sufficient? Thank you all very much!!

I would say yes. I need one from Germany for example, because I am German and lived there most of my life and need one from the UK since I live here since a couple years.

IR1/CR1 Visa - DCF at London Embassy

April 16, 2013: Mailed out I-130

April 18, 2013: Date Petition filed
May 13, 2013: APPROVED!
May 22, 2013: Case Number received
June 3, 2013: Mailed out DS-230 & DS-2001
June 4, 2013: Medical Exam at Bentick Mansion
Unfortunately I have to re-do it in 6 + weeks as I was diagnosed with pneumonia
June 22, 2013 I traveled to the USA with the plan of returning to the UK, spoke to a Immigration lawyer and he told me to change my status and go the AOS route.
Since 2014 I am a permanent resident.

You need to bring what they request. Police certificates from all places lived since the age of 16.

Have you lived in other countries besides Canada? You will need police certificates from those countries if you lived there for over six months, I believe. Maybe it's a year. Someone else can clarify on that.

When you apply for your national police certificate in Canada you will need to list all previous addresses that you have lived in the past. Therefore you should only be required to submit one police certificate.

Nope, as others have said, it's country wide. :) You'll only need one from Canada.

The numbers of police certificate you need equals to the numbers the countries you live.

Not really. I believe one has to live there for at least 6 months before it is required. 1 Will cover all of Canada! Ensure you get it donw with all the names one has used!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

AS long as you never lived outside of Canada your fine. Just make sure the national criminal database is searched and it states that.
