I know its too early to think about flights since we still don't know how the interview will go. But if and when the interview turns out favorable, me and my fiance is thinking what flight to take from the Philippines to LAX that is not too costly but then safe and trustworthy. Second, knowing that in reference to the Philippines Law, flight departing from the Philippines can just be booked within the country and not from any region outside the country. How did the rest of you VJ's who had already booked a flights did this?

Thanks in advance!

I booked with American Airlines using Frequent flyer miles. It let me book all the way to Fort Wayne, IN (FWA) for the same price as LAX. I was able to book the flight from the US but the fees and taxes (4480 PHP) had to be paid in the Philippines in person.

I have head that some airlines only require the person in the Philippines to present the credit card that paid for the ticket , (or a photo graph of it) at the ticket counter. But I can't vouch for that method.

I also have looked at this site several times. They use Delta and Korean Air as well as a few others. They seem to have good prices in to LAX. Look for the 1st time immigrant pricing. There price list is hard to read.

I let my then fiancee find the ticket, including the discount and then sent her the money to buy the ticket, it saved alot of time and headache for me to find out who would and who wouldnt allow the ticket to be purchased outside the country. She shopped around for the best price.

I purchased the tickets for my fiance and kids for a flight aboard Delta(One Stopover), Manila-Narita-Detroit. Made purchase online through Expedia. Confirmed that my fiance did not need to have a copy of my charge card or anything else. The flight from Manila to LAX are the cheapest and they are one way in most cases. Some offer first time immigrant discounts. Good Luck in your visa journey!!
