I was using hotels.com and searching for the best price. There are several within walking distance.

Hotel Soriente ... can't beat the price, the quiet, and the staff. Stayed for 10 days in June 2011. Within walking distance of St. Lukes and Embassy. Plus you can get a nice BBQ chicken dinner at (Chocks to go) for 60 pesos at the little stand around the corner. Good luck!!!

I second Paul & Rain's recommendation of Hotel Soriente. I've stayed at quite a few of the hotels in the area, and it's been the best deal. Spacious rooms, clean, centrally located, etc. Not the Hyatt, but a great deal for the price (I think I paid 1700PHP/nt last summer).
