You can check it out but at this point Joker needs to have an answer from USCIS. Don't think a Laywer or immigration clinci can do a lot right now. I believe USCIS has 120 days from the interview to make a decision so an answer should be there soon.

You have a cause of action in Federal court after the 120 days. All that means is you can file and force a decision. Otherwise, they can keep you in limbo until they decide whether or not to deport you, if that is what is hanging up the case. That is lawyer territory for sure.

I agree. This is some thing you should involve an atty or at least consult with one in case if they try take negative action against you. It never hurts to be over prepared.

Not necessarily. But if they are considering it, it will delay any decision for you becoming a citizen.

yeadh i did to the district office house of representatives a Member of Congress Janice Haln! I might need to contact her on monday to see if she got my letter...

Joker69 - There is a section of the law known as 1447(b), which mandates USCIS to decide your case within 120 days after the interview, and you have some recourse to force them to expedite the processing if it's still pending after 120 days post-interview.

Perhaps, consulting an immigration attorney would be a better idea.

11/18/11: FP done per schedule

01/03/12: Yellow letter received (dated 12/12/11)

01/06/12: Status changed to Testing and Interview (inline for scheduling)

01/18/12: Status changed to Interview Scheduled

01/21/12: IL Received

02/23/12: Interview: approved. Oath: completed

Phew, what a journey! I am a US Citizen.

02/27/12: Applied for U.S. Passport & Passport card

Its better you speak to an immigration attorney and decide if you want to file it yourself or hire an attorney.

Also check this http://www.lafla.org/service.php?sect=muni⊂=selfhelp for walk-in clinics in your area.
