Mail from US to Romania... need the papers :(

Hey all! I am so stressed My fiance sent me the papers i need for my interview on 28 september using US postal service (express mail) and they told him it will get here in 3 - 5 days. Using the tracking number they gave him on their site it say on 30 september the package Processed Through Sort Facility in Romania. I went to the post office in here and they told me it did not arrived in my country. I feel like screaming coz i need the papers this week, my interview is on 13 oct . What can i do to find out where the package it is? I will sure ask my fiance to call the US post office but what else can i do? And if, let's say my package will not get here in time, wich i pray to not happen, can i call the embassy and ask them to reschedule for an other date, would they do that?? Please help me!

We had to reschedule and it wasnt a problem. I cant comment on the schedule of the Romanian embassy, but in our case the next available date was 3 weeks after our original.

Not sure about the mail problems, maybe look at a courier service that can guarantee delivery? Pretty expensive though...

I suggest you to send it via FedEx, I sent my fiances documents to Afghanistan through FedEx and he received it in 5 days even thought its so hard to send stuff to Afghanistan, you still have time don't take the risk, it might cost a little more money but its worth it, so tell your fiance to resend it if he can, I think that is the best solution and tell your fiance not use US postal because they always lose things and they are always late. FedEx is a little expensive but its worth it. I payed $70 so you might get it cheaper

Thank you shugufa20! I know what you say but he sent original stuff and it will take time for him to get the papers and send it in a week Thank you for your wish! I have faith God will make so all goes fine, He was with us during all this long process! Good luck to you too and to everyone else@

some thing very inportant like that, pay the price use fedex or ups dhl, cost more be it gets there,the united states postal always a problem.in another day or two tell your husban to go to the post office and ask to talk to the postmaster,expain to him and ask is there any way he can l oacate the package and have it expedited,to you asap.i hope it arrives in a few days good luck ,

LOL...I'm not the greatest fan of the USPS, but according to the OP's initial posting "Using the tracking number they gave him on their site it say on 30 september the package Processed Through Sort Facility in Romania.. I think the problem lies in Romania, not USPS. Once they hand off the package, the USPS has done all they can do.

In the past when I've sent snail mail, sometimes the postmark will show it arrived in Cebu on XX date, but it was not delivered to her add in Lapu-Lapu for two weeks after that.

As others, I used FedEx for all important doc deliveries to my Fiancee in Phils.
