USC wife changed after i stopped financially pampering her.

This is kinda weird story, but I just got my gc the other day and now im stressing out big time because, from what I feel, my wife became a totally different person when she cant milk money from me anymore. We were good friends, had decent jobs. She used to live on SD while I live here in LA. We decided to get married feb 2011. Marriage was im good faith but I had no idea she wanted to marry me to be his personal bank. The whole petition preparation was done by me.no help from her. All throughout the process,shes like "i want this, that" "buy me this, that" and when she doesnt get it, she throws,temper tantrum. She didnt wanna move to LA unless I say yes to her conditions. Her/our own apartment, new cellphone, pay for her international trips, schooling(which her crazy mom has been feeding me to ask from me) and many more.i tried to give all possible stuff to her. Anyways I had the aparment last week of april, and she would hardly drive up unless I lure her with stuff. Its hard for me to drive down to sd coz again, I cant afford the gas weekly. So,everytime shes there, I stay at my parents house few blocks away.i knew my wife is,doin shady stuff. One time I saw guy's short in my house. Its not obviously mine coz its big. I came 2x and caught my wife chillin with 2 different guys.asked her who they where, she said friends. I know shes cheatin but bcause im scared she gets upset and stop the petition, I kept my mouth shut.

Interview was 2 weeks ago and now have gc. Last night her crazy mom called me to remind me their demands, now IM STRESSED OUT coz im still financially struggling, and im the only one working (she moved here last august after quitting her job in sd). I didnt quite have a nice conversation with her mom coz theyre demanding more so,she drove back to sd.now she stopped,communicating with me and scared that may give up the petition and leave me hanging before the roc.

My question is what people on this situation do? Will it harm me if I file divorce or whats gonna happen to me if she files divorce. Is my gc in jeopardy here?

You file for divorce then you file for ROC by yourself with a waiver for the marriage based on good faith and you remove conditions on your own. Then you get your 10 year card, and continue your life in the USA.

Thanks inky. A friend of mine is telling me that. Something like a waiver for me to be able to self petition. But yeah, Im in this miserable stand and I dunno how I can get out of this. I feel like shes in control and im helpless.. I cant go live like this, fear that she might go crazy, think of stupid stuff and stop the petition and send me back home. I have this feeling shes becoming like this because of other guy. I,could care less now coz she made me life hell, I just wanna continue my life normally

Stop giving her money,,, If she leaves on her own and/or files for divorce... Better for you.

A court will be more likely to give her the short end of the deal if she files... Also, put a

freeze on your credit reports,,, to keep her from applying for additional credit in your name.

Someone from California that has been through the divorce process might be able to shed additional

light on protecting yourself.

Make sure you save as much evidence as possible like joint account and other related material before you make the hard call.

yeah I guess thats all I can do, save evidence..my wife and my mother in all are both crazt and im just scared they might withdraw thr petition or call immigration and tell them not to allow me to enter the US when I go back to my home country next year..

They can't do either such thing...

Once the Greencard is issued the Affidavit of Support can't be withdrawn. They could call ICE and claim you married her only for the Greencard but then she'd need some kind of proof.

Cut off the gravy train, let her leave & file divorce. Whatever you do don't allow yourself to be alone with either of them again, change the locks on your apartment and limit communication to e-mails/texts so you can archive. If they call let it go to voicemail and then find a way to archive the messages. I would suggest getting a Google Voice number and telling them to use that number to contact you then change your cell/ landline numbers so they have to call the GV number. GV allows you to archive the voice messages and since they know they're being recorded when leaving a voice message the recording can be used in court or by law enforcement officials.

If you circle the wagons and look at her as a potential threat to your safety then take appropriate precautions then you'll be fine.

What visa were you adjusting from, you were pampering your wife but you're now worry about whats gonna happen to you and your GC. How come you had so much money to pamper your wife were you weren't even a resident?

for KATIE. first of all, who says i have a lot of money?? if i had a lot of money then i guess i wouldnt have a problem like this and just give her whatever she wanted to avoid more arguement and bickering. if youll read my psost carefully, i said i think the reason why she wanted to marry me is because of the money. and to clarify, just because im not a resident thats why i cant have money/much money? thats where the word job gets in the picture. why would i worry about my gc? obviously its because i did try to save it but if she doesnt wanna cooerate, that whatelse could i do. isnt it right also to protect myself when i know they can use it againt me or at least to gain control of the situation again?. for the question where does the love go? ask her. i remained the same, she changed.

Usually it's the immigrant demanding money from the USC...interesting turn of events.
