Dear all:

I am an American citizen, living in Canada for a few years. My 10-year-old child also lives in Canada for a couple years.

I did file I-130 and also sent out forms by packet 3. I was told that Packet 4 is on the way mailing to me now. May I have some questions:

1. Will packet 4 be sent to my home or DHL services for me to pick up?

2. Because this is filed for a child, do we still make online interview appointment in Montreal?

Do we get assigned appointment already ?

You cannot file an immigrant petition for a US citizen, which is what your child based on jus sanguinis is.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. OP: How long have you been a US citizen? How long have you lived in Canada? Where was the child born?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I am not sure if you can file the petition for your child but i can answer other questions.(1) your packet 4 will be sent to you home address as it is just a normal letter.(2) you still need to book appointment online because they will not assign you interview.

Yeah I am a tad confused as to why you would need to apply for a child when you are a us citizen. If born a us citizen then your child be automatically be a us citizen and if you recently got us citizen then he would again get us citizenship through you as said child is under 18.

I know where you are going with this, but here's what made me respond fast:

Sure, she could have lived in Mongolia or Siberia before, but I kind of don't think so.
