Careful with just any malaria prevention meds, especially in Nigeria. They will cause very harmful side effects in your liver etc. Go to a tropical doctor and take what he says according to specific regional mosquito species. Malarone is a safe and very effective malaria prophylaxis that can be prescribed before you travel. Take it 2-3 days before you leave until you return home.

Jen, it could be that they want to make sure you weren't "paid" to fly over for immi purposes only or they use it as a smoke screen to check something else. Glad you have the new date and that you are going over again.

I was on doxycycline, but I missed a dose. It wasn't a bad case though from what I hear. I think we would be okay for me not to go. I just think that if something were to go wrong, would that make a difference, so off I go again. They want to know how we can afford so many trips as I am a student. We have submit letters from our families that they have helped some with the expenses. I have yet to understand how that is relevant, but at least it isn't something more serious.

it seems like these Lagos people just want to deny folks for any reason possible.. sad

I was too, I just got back. However, because we have some red flags I feel that anything I can do I should. Plus airfrance is having a sale. I got my ticket for just $1100. I never thought that I would get sick of traveling, but I am. I came back with malaria last time, so maybe once I am totally healed I will be happy to go.

jenkatx: If you don't mind me asking......What kind of RED FLAGS do you guys have?

I am 6 years older & divorced. However, they did tell him in the interview that they believe our relationship is real, which seems to be the biggest hurdle with them.

@ jenkatx thanks for your quick response.

I have another question.. How do someone end up in or what prompts "ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS"??? How someone can avoid this??

Please advice

For me and my finace, we grew up in the street. But we reconnected through her sister last year summer 2010 after 13yrs. I have visited her 3 times since we reconnected and I plan to visit her again for christmas 2011. I hope this visits will show some kind of realness in our relationship and our love.

We specifically prayed against that, lol. I swear that is what saved us. But, I think it really depends upon the circumstances and the CO. If you have any red flags you can make sure to specifically address those in the interview and that may help. You may want to ask NigeriaorBust, she has a lot of knowledge on those things.

Where can I find her? lol. On the other hand will my visits give me any edge? Do you know anything about Rebtel international calling?

Yes we used Rebtel and just print all the records as well as the main page showing what number belongs to whom. I also took the cell records with all those calls highlighted. I think the number of visits is a big factor. How many have you made? If you go on my profile you can find her, maybe you can pm her about it. Or maybe someone will see this and tell you.

I think you will be ok. Sometimes they approve with just the one visit. Sometimes they seem to want more. you are lucky to get to go at Christmas, I hear it is so much fun, but I have yet to get to go then!

@ Jenkatx........ Thank you! You are the best, quick response. I haven't been for christmas since I left there back in 1997 for Houston. Im gonna need a lot of support and help. Thanks for VJ. I also plan to go during her interview, perhaps they wont let me in at least I'm there in case of any question.

I will be sending my petition off before the month ends. I heard filing in Fall is better than summer. How true is that?
