I am going to be visiting my bf during Diwali. I will be flying from US to Delhi and then should i fly from Delhi to Chandigarh or just taxi it? Then once I get to Chandigarh, bf will meet me there. Just wondering if anyone has any good hotel suggestions in Chadigarh. Very nice but reasonable as well. Thanks!!

I always fly into Delhi and hire a car from Delhi to Chandigarh and back. It makes for a long journey I think 5-7 hours but that is our preferred method. They do have that new airport in Chandigarh now so that is an option but just keep in mind that you have to exit the international airport and go to the domestic one. (Too confusing for me). We stay with his family so sorry I'm not familiar with any hotels in the area. Just be careful when you stay in the hotels. Stay alert and scope the room. Make sure there are no hidden cameras, etc. We're going in two weeks so I can't wait. My first Dilwali!

P.S. Happy Birthday. =)

Another suggestion if your Boyfriend can come over to Delhi to meet you, that would do 2 things, 1st-- easier for an India to negotiate the taxi rate compare to a foreigner you'll definitely pay more as a foreigner.

2)When an India book a hotel room the rate is also cheaper, it's right in the open, there's an INR rate and a $$ rate they are not equivalent to each other when looking at the currency factor. I used to have my buddies there booked the room for me when I travel and I get the lower rate but some places kinda frown on it but I never had anybody saying to me Hey you have to pay $ rate.

Meeting your bf right when you get off to Delhi PRICELESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Gone but not Forgotten!
