So I just paid my AOS bill last night and immediately there was a barcoded Document Cover Sheet available to print. Is that cover sheet going to look different after the bill is marked "Paid" or can I just use that one? I'm just wondering because everything I've read here indicated that the cover sheet wouldn't even be available until it was marked "Paid." Obviously I will wait to send everything until it's paid, but just curious about this. Thanks!

03-04-11 NOA1 Email/text

03-07-11 Check cashed

03-09-11 NOA1 hard copy

06-16-11 NOA2 Email/text (107 Days! Yaay!)

06-21-11 Informed USCIS of their error: they wrongly thought we were adjusting status so they held the petition and didn't forward it to NVC

06-30-11 Expedited service request granted to forward petition to NVC

08-02-11 Congressional Inquiry to get USCIS to finally forward petition to NVC

08-05-11 USCIS admits our file was routed to National Records Center and will expedite its return and forward to NVC

08-23-11 Congressman's office informs me that file is FINALLY on its way to NVC! Woohoo!!

09-28-11 IV Invoice marked Paid. DS-230 Mailed. I-864 Delivered.

you need to wait till the NVC says the bill paid...and you will see the document cover letter with bar code

Case Complete 10/11/2011 (NO interview in November or Dec@ ABU DHABI consulate )

VISA granted...... 1/24/2012 thank you JESUS

The cover sheet is good to use right away. But you also need to submit the payment receipt. The payment receipt generated immediately only shows in processing, not paid. Wait till it says paid to use the receipt. Or else you may get a RFE for not having the payment receipt. I know it's lame as they should have just check the computer record and know that the payment has been made. But I actually got a RFE for pre-mature payment receipt submitted.

Thanks for the reply!! I wasn't aware that I had to submit the actual payment receipt at all since the lists on this site just say "Barcoded cover sheet"... I'm glad I asked!

The cover sheet is good to use right away. But you also need to submit the payment receipt. The payment receipt generated immediately only shows in processing, not paid. That's why I'm confused. My AOS bill is still in process but there is already a button that says "Print Document Cover Sheet" that lets me print a barcoded sheet that says... "You MUST RETURN THIS COVER SHEET with the Petitioner's completed forms and supporting documents etc etc..."

This is the first time I hear that, I didn't submit any receipt, I just place the cover sheet on top of all my documents and that's it. The cover sheet should only be available after the payment though.

If you paid for it, then don't worry about it, get everything together by the time your packet reaches the NVC it should already show paid.

Yes you can use that cover sheet it will not change after payment is accepted and also you do not have to submit the payment receipt with the package

2/13/2010: Met in Korea

1/21/2011: Married in Tacloban City

USCIS (135 days)

2/23/2011: sent I-130 and I-129f

3/6/2011: received NOA1 for I-130

3/16/2011: received NOA1 for I-129f

6/17/2011: received NOA2 for I-130 and I-129f

7/18/2011: NVC received and case number assigned

7/20/2011: NVC Administratively closes I-129f

I didn't submit any payment receipt either. However, I did wait until the payment portal said "PAID" before printing the bar coded coversheet.
