She seems to have jumped the gun on a lot of issues that should only be done after she has a visa in hand.
Oh, there's no "seeming" about it -- she did jump the gun, big-time. Whoever presumed that the visa would be granted at that interview, or whoever encouraged her to believe it, is greatly at fault for the resultant emotional upheaval. Very little in this visa process is 100% guaranteed, except the wisdom "Never ever close out your life in your home country before the visa is IN HAND."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

not to derail the thread but there WAS a case on here where a guy had a russian/ukranian fiancee who said she didn't get it and I think something about needing more money for something. She forwarded him the "denial email" from the embassy and noticed that the email address wasn't quite right. He CALLED the embassy to find out she never attended the interview. On further looking the email was dated wrong, the email address was wrong and the sentence structure and spelling was bad.

So while yes it's best to assume it's all on the up-and-up, there HAVE been cases where the emails have been faked. In the OP's case he email them so he was sure it was right.. but you can't be too careful.

With all due respect, I mean no harm nor disrespect to these folks' demise, nor to "insult" anyone. I apologize if that is the tone that's read from my posting. Most of this process is nothing but a paper-chase and certain points are flagged before they get to the next step. I experienced a RFE when I omitted my 1st divorce papers, although I included the date with the original application.

There are plenty of posts on this website where the spouses experienced regret after immigration takes place. I am only speculating that PERHAPS this took place before she compeleted the "visa-journey". From the immidiate info giving, it's not impossible, nor "low-blow" to consider. Instead of working on a resolve, the "intended" cut off communication and it appears to be the "end of it" as far as the postings go. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. My two-cents won't matter, either way. The insult is her not communicating with him, not my observation of the affair. I hope the best for them, if works out together or if they have to move on, separately.

no worries man... looking back on everything that was said by the OP and others i think i probably read too much in to your post anyway so i apologise for what i said :)

It’s all good she is here now ... The journey is brutal the ups are up but wow the downs I don't know if there is one proper word to describe it "Exasperating plus" but LOVE has prevailed. It has been a wonderful week as I pick Julie up last Monday. At first site I ran to her and told her I loved her and would never let you go. From SFO we went home in a Limo, but my poor sweetheart was so tired she took one sip of champagne and slept half the way. When we got home there on the porch were some item’s I shopped for over the internet that included her favorite coffee, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, and a few other English items she likes. Then as we walked in there was her dog Molly very excited and her cat Custard, 2 dozen roses and a card that read FOREVER LOVE with some US spending money, 1 ½ closets, 2 dressers and a full bed and bath room empty just for her. I have thought to myself these closing weeks here is a beautiful women who sold her home, gave up a great paying job, not to mention her family and friends … I AM THE LUCKIEST MAN ON THE EARTH ... Julie and I are enjoying shopping, decorating, gardening, church, walks in the parks and dining out. She has already picked out her wedding dress and we have the church, pastor, photographer and songs all set for 19th of Nov 2001. We are learning how to work and communicate together as a couple and make plans for our future. I cannot thank God enough for bringing us together finally and for the love and the support from all of you. x

Given MORE congrats to our friend! His dilemna cause ME to get a little concerned about my bride getting cold feet, truth be told! When you're older and more established, it takes a lot to uproot yourself as our women-folk are doing! So let's be good Yankees and take care of these Brits, they've been through a lot to get here!

So, this is Julie and this is my post.

First of all this site has been a wealth of information and support during this very difficult process. However some people are so very quick to judge.

I am shocked by some of the strong comments when people do not know the full story.

It was a very big deal when I got to the embassy and found out my fiancé had in fact been married 3 times and not just twice as he had told me. By this stage I had sold my home and given notice on my job. Nothing is guaranteed I know, but there was no reason I could see that we would be denied.

My whole world crashed at that moment and I was barely able to speak to anyone. I will not forget in a hurry the humiliation and sense of betrayal I felt.

By the grace of God Don and I are together now and it is going well. My faith got me through.

To everyone who is still in the process I wish you the very best of luck. The sense of relief and happiness I felt when I saw Don waiting at the airport is still with me now, so hang on in there it truly is worth it in the end ♥

Julie,

I am glad you worked it out with Don. His initial lack of information given to you and the Embassy is a sign of lying and fraud, and only a deeper investigation can find the intent. We have seen our share of drama in these forums, from a guy who still is friends with an ex to another who still LIVES with his ex. Some are fraud, some are not, and communication is the key. One of the shockers is how much time, effort and money is put into this, yet some people still lie. And even if they get away with the lie, if they are that sort of person there are much bigger issues ahead.

Congrats on your successful arrival and forgive US who were "quick to judge." We didn't know the facts and ran with what was given. Considering the facts, :wow: ...Be encouraged as you step out on faith, even after getting the additional news during your visa interview, instead of your husband-to-be. I still think you're a brave woman to still follow-through after being fully informed! Congrats and Godspeed!
