Hi everyone,

Can't seem to find any guidelines to which K2 form(s) I should be filling out for a 3 year child that will go with her mother once the K1 is approved. Can someone please help me with this?

Thank you,

Alejandro

You use the same forms for a child of any age, which is pretty much the same forms the mother fills out for the K-1 that is submitted to the consulate.

Check your consulate website for more details

The child also fills out a separate i129f form? That doesn't sound right.

no, never said the child needs an i-129f petition... I said the visa application forms to the CONSULATE!.. The petition is NOT a k-1 visa application so do not confuse the two they are quite different

the child just needs be listed on the alien fiance(e) petition. When time comes for visa application at the consulate, the K-1 & K-2 fill out essentially the same forms.

YMMV

All the beneficiary's children are listed on the 129F. Then when it comes time for the interview, those who will receive a K-2 are listed on the DS-156K. It's that simple. Each K-2 must also have their own medical and some Embassies require the K-2 to come to the K-1's interview (if to join) or have their own separate interview (if to follow).

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
