Hello all,

Our fiance petition will expire Oct. 1 and we still don't have an interview date. I emailed the embassy, asking them if the petition would be extended, and all they would answer me is that the appointment hasn't been scheduled yet. Has anyone else had this experience or can anyone comment? They didn't answer my question, and the answer I got was not helpful at all. I know that others have been denied visas due to expired petitions.

sorry to hear that but in my opinion some of the staff answering emails dont have a clue what they are talking about. They are just wasting time with standard email replies. We were called by egyptian embassy lady who said packet 4 was discontinued so i emailed and never got answers to any of my questions and kept being told to watch the interview schedule every 2 weeks and packet4 arrived late thru dhl and had no notice at all and of course we are not on the schedule. you can request it to be read by chief consular i suppose. Good Luck i know what your going through.

Good Luck getting them to answer phone sheesh

We received the same email responses. Don’t worry about it. We just received our interview date, and its after our NOA2 expiration. The Co can extend the validity of your petition. I am sure you will hear from them soon.

Thanks, Mandy_Amro. And how were you notified of your interview date? Did you get a letter, an email, a phone call? Your answer is giving me a bit of hope.

The embassy sent a letter via DHL to Amro.
