Hello VJ,

Good day. Once again I am here seeking for some advice, I know you guys helps a lot of people and that is the best thing about this site. You learned a lots of things from people here based on their own experienced. NOw my question is about this things that really makes me confused. I got my NBI clearance (more likely a police clearance) before you can get your clearance you need to fill up some forms , then you go to data check division for them to check if your data is correct. Now in my CS i put "ANNULLED" but then the woman asked me, "Are u married?" (lol) :bonk: (is there any single status that file for an annulment?)and so I said "yes". Now I noticed that in my clearance under CS instead of "ANNULLED" it is "MARRIED". Will this be a problem ? Or is this what really happens cause i put my ex-husband name cause it is clearly one of the requirements that u need to put other names that you used. Someone told me that this will be a big problem cause K1 is only for single and not yet married before"

Can Someone please enlighten me on this ???? I am so confused .... TIA

When you were asked if you ARE married why would you answer "Yes" when in fact you WERE married previously but currently ARE NOT married?

If you present any document that (even in error) lists you as currently married it will cause a lot of problems up to an possibly including being charged with Material Misrepresentation which comes with a lifetime entry ban.

Get your document corrected and be clear and confident when answering such questions in the future.

I suggest if you are Annulled get an NBI clearance with AKA on it. I am on the same situation. When I secured my clearance I had it with my Maiden name AKA previous married name... This is how the US Embassy wanted it. And yes, you are single :)

@ Shmily, thanks and oh yeah i did that , of course I know how to filled up forms i don't know why the woman changed my status where in fact i put it annulled. When i saw she put married above where i wrote the annulled word, i thought its their codes since she put parenthesis on the word i originally wrote i didn't pay attention to it until i needed to gather all the documents i needed to bring to apply for my passport which is on this coming Friday. Well, i guess I need to go back to NBI and let them change it . Thanks to all those of you who answered my question. God Bless Us All...

Hey there,

I'm glad someone asked the question... I am on my way of securing an NBI Clearance soon. I am annulled too and never applied for an NBI clearance when I got married as I was just a plain housewife and didn't needed one. So years passed, now I am annulled.

Can someone tell me what is the best way to apply for an NBI clearance without causing me any trouble? Is NBI main office the best place to go instead of satellite office?

I heard there is no renewal now, and the process is like it is our first time, filling up form and going through the process like a first timer.

Should I fill up the form as a single woman but just add my single name plus my ex-husband name under a.k.a? If so, what documents they want to see? Should I present my Marriage certificat with annotation in SECPA paper?

Thanks.
