When I scheduled appointment with US Embassy Manila, I was told CEAC doesn't apply to CR1 (as this was what we applied for).

Click on this link for info about CEAC http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/317355-ceac-confirmation-letter/

Hope this helps

sweetheart428--I honestly do appreciate your time to respond and provide the links. And, yes, I had actually already seen and studied the information there. However, information there and what I received still confuses me. Basically info in post/topic(s) link says CEAC received when fill out DS-160 but K1 do not fill out DS-160 but appointment confirmation received personally (indicating K1 category) says bring CEAC Confirmation Letter. All these pieces of information are self-contradictory. Hunh??? So...can anyone sort this out/explain to me...? Essentially, how to bring instructed CEAC if not required but says instructions to bring CEAC???? Very confusing.

Essentially, how to bring instructed CEAC if not required but says instructions to bring CEAC???? Very confusing.

This statement was included on the interview email confirmation I received from US Embassy Manila:

Instructions

Arrive at the Embassy 15 minutes before the time listed on your appointment Letter. Bring the following document with you at the Embassy for your Interview: Appointment Letter. Valid Passport. CEAC Confirmation Letter. 2” x 2” color photo in white background For the safety and security of all applicants and employees, visa applicants are NOT PERMITTED to bring any kind of electronic and battery-operated devices (cellular phone, digital camera, laptop, music player, portable game consoles such as PSP, etc.) into the U.S. Embassy. Applicants who bring such devices will be denied entry. Please check the website www.ustraveldocs.com/ph for the security policy which includes a list of additional prohibited items. Subject to conditions at www.ustraveldocs.com/ph

I had no clue what CEAC Confirmation letter was all about. Yet, verbiage was part of email. I then called US Embassy Manila at (214) 571-1600 (for calls from the United States), and that's how I found out it doesn't apply to our CR1 petition.

Why they include CEAC??? I'm making the assumption based on my call with USEM Manila rep, the signature portion of the interview email/letter from US Embassy Manila is a standard email/letter they send out to everyone (which by the way included a map).

Please someone correct me.

Jill--Thank you for your kind comforting words and offer of help. Will not hesitate to send comments or message to you if any more questions come up. For now, the best help would be prayers for good interview preparation (documents & low stress!), for passing the medical OK, and interview itself. Thank you for everything. --Inday/RK
