Pictures and other proof of being married.

What kind of proof will be expected if a couple marries in the judges office and does not have a church wedding with allot of people present. What kind of pictures will be considered proof of the couple getting married?

a picture with the judge and witnesses? A picture of you guys signing the marriage contract/license. That would be good enough.

A lot depends non what is normal in your culture.

In many places, it would be perfectly acceptable to have no photo of the legal ceremony, and just some of the reception with the two familiies.

we have no pics of our marriage or reception, just the documents and lots of fotos of the many trips my hubbys made over the years, we got cleared from uscis in under 60days, we also have a kid, but that to some degree to them is irrelevant, although seems pretty stretched if people go that far to get a visa!

I included a picture of us signing the documents in front of the judge and a picture taken with all of our witnesses. I also included pictures of us through the years (one for each year), snapshots of my inbox with all of the emails "from" Hadrien and my passport visa pages to show that I have been in and out of France for the past 8 years. Worked fine. No RFEs.

My list maybe little too much but it certainly doesn't hurt

1) Pictures of vacation(s) together preferably with noticeable and obvious landmarks etc...

2) Marriage photos with your spouse's family members and friends that you took in court

3) Print Emails and Phone call records.

4) Marriage Certificate

5) Air tickets to see your spouse

6) Tickets from your vacation together

7) AOS: Affidavit of support from your family members acknowledging that you married etc...

8) Receipt of the engagement ring purchase

9) Receipt of the wedding ring purchase

10) Screenshots of Skype video call records

No two cases are ever the same. We had a civil ceremony in the Mayor's office with photos of us and our sponsors signing the marriage contract. My wife took a small suitcase of pictures, documents, etc to the interview, and only thing the CO laughingly asked her was "Why did it take you so long to apply for a visa?" I lived in the Philippines for 19 years, and we were married 11 years before we decided to move back to the States with our two daughters.

I'm just a bit concerned after reading this thread. My husband and I had a civil ceremony in a courthouse and were married by a judge, we didn't have any of our relatives there because we plan on having a church ceremony and reception once I go to join him in the U.S. which all of our relatives will attend (both American relatives and Scottish.) We have pictures of us exchanging rings and of us with the judge who married us, both before and after the ceremony but we don't have pics of us signing, or with our witnesses who were two clerks who worked at the courthouse. We obviously have a collection of pics of us at college (where we met through friends), with our friends and also pics of both of us with our parents and other relatives. Also phone records, skype logs, a joint bank a/c and affidavits from family members. Is this likely to be a huge issue, like do we need to think about consulting an immigration attorney? Thanks.

Based on what you posted, my two cents is the evidence you have already collected for your file is good and the fact that you do not have any pictures of yourselves signing the marriage certificate is unlikely to be a big issue. Whether or not you consult an immigration attorney is your decision, but again, based on your post, I don't believe that is necessary.
