Is the I-797 the same as NOA1? I can't remember from 2 years ago. We got our I-797 on Saturday

Saturday is October, so technically you should be following the October filers thread.

NOA 1 says that you have been extended status for 1 year. Etc.

Great to see members making progress. Here's something odd that happened, my wife and I discovered that she received two NOAs, both with the same content, but different receipt numbers on the same date with a time stamp 10 minutes apart. She called the national office today and all they could confirm is that it is not normal practice to have two receipts, but could not help us any further. We were told to make an Infopass appointment to clear this up, I have some horrible thoughts of us traveling together on the wrong extension letter. The appointment is scheduled for 10/14.

Hi. So like Inky and Freyja I received a biometrics appointment for 10/5 with a different case number than the NOA. I tried entering both numbers on USCIS website but neither works Should I call them about it? I assume the bar code on the ASC letter is the same as the case number on the top of the letter (which is not found in the database), so if they scan the bar code when sending my biometrics info, how is it going to get delivered to USCIS if the case number does not exist in the system?

Any change in being able to see your case online? I had my biometrics today and afterwards checked if I could see my case online, but unfortunately no luck... I remember when we were applying for AOS, there were some people that never were able to get updates online, I guess I'll be one of them for ROC... Doesn't really matter though I guess, they always sent a letter by mail too..

Thanks Inky, I hope so too, this complication really came out of left field. Makes me wonder if USCIS has a system glitch *gulp*...

Hopefully its sorted out easily and its not something really complicated. Good luck at the appointment.

Thanks - I left the letter at home - and I couldn't remember the date. Our receipt date is 09/27/11. Also - I changed my display name. I am both of the people above. _Hopefully was for when my husband was going through the awful I-130 etc process and was what I used on another site. I won't be changing again.
