So we got as far as sending in all the docs to NVC, but got a RFE for more evidence regarding assets.. Proof of the bank account and using our car. I also need to provide 2 more passport photos. We are using a lawyer, but NVC has both our contact and I do have the cover sheet provided. I'm out of the US and wondering, instead of sending to the lawyer then going to NVC, do you think it would be alright to just send it in myself? The lawyer said that I can, but recommends, that they send it in...

If I send it to the lawyer first I've just added about 5 more days to the process to get to NVC... There is no additional information needed (I called NVC directly.)

You can send it directly but then the attorney will say that they don't know what you sent and end up charging you more if there is any problem.

They needed 2 passport photos and additional proof of assets. I guess because of the RFE is why I felt like sending it myself - wondering why the lawyer didn't think about those things (ps I gave the lawyer extra photos). But I think I'll follow through with the lawyer, the letter from NVC was addressed to them, even though they forwarded the email to us also.
