Is NOA = Fingerprint appointment?

I got the electronic acceptance, but not yet the NOA. Assuming NOA does NOT usually include the biometrics appointment, how long between the two letters? Do they also email you with the finger printing appointment? Have had some seriously delayed mail lately and bit worried about how much notice I'll have as I'll need to organise childcare etc.

Yes you are correct. The NOA will arrive in a few days. you can use the NBC number in the acceptance email to signup for online notifications. You should receive an update notifying you that a biometrics letter is being sent to you.

i recieved my NOA on 03/25/2011 and my biometrics letter came on 04/02/2011. so just one week later.

Your status will change to RFE when they send out the biometrics notice - that's the case for N400.

My NOA-1 and FP letter came a couple of days apart, you can check that out in my signature.

Not necessarily. Mine didn't. I even got an RFE, and the status stayed on initial review.
