Do We Need to Get a PIN Number to Receive our Embassy Interview Date?

The Embassy in Bogota Colombia received out package in June. We've been waiting for our interview date since.

Nothing in the package instructions says anything about a pin number.

However, my girl's people tell her she should be getting a pin from a travel agency or something, and with that number she can call and get her interview date.

Is there any truth to this? And if so, what is the correct procedure?

This is for a K-1 fiancee visa.

Thanks in advance for any help

Actually, to clarify, my girl received package 3 in June, but we didnt send it back until about 7/15, because we wanted to make sure we had all the papers in order before we sent it back.

Idk how it's done in Bogota, but here in Lima we doesn't need a pin number, USEM issue the interview date in package 4, so I'll go with that letter and that's it. For fiance visa you don't need a pin number

Maybe you should give them a call: http://bogota.usembassy.gov/iv-contact.html

Best wishes!

thanks for the feedback so far.

I did find the website with appointments lists on it. We are neither on the appointment list for aug or sept :( I guess it is because we delayed in getting back the package.

I sent the embassy an email on the link geor provided. I just got back an auto reply saying that they will give a few reply soon. if I dont get an email reply by tomorrow , I will call.

again, thanks

That is a big NO. Do yourself a favor. Do not listen to people in Colombia. If you, the USC, have questions about the USCIS, NVC, and consulate, people in Colombia have no idea about the immigrant visas. Don't take me wrong I love Colombians but their expertise is in the non-immigrant visa. Just listen to your fellow VJ's and you will be fine

I'm wondering how that can be possible, if the dates are generated on the fifteenth of the month, and they dont generate the date until after you send back package three, which was sent back after july 15th.

In my personal case, I had to check the Spanish version of the website to see my case number listed. In case you think I am kidding, Check the Aug list for the English version and the Spanish version. they are different.

Keep an eye..also keep calling to NVC...they were the one who gave me the data and time of my interview
