Please Help!!! I think we made a huge mistake...

So - my fiance ended up sending EVERYTHING to the embassy. I gave him clear directions on what forms, including the cover letter, forms and DS-2001 to send out.

However, instead of following my directions (he was in a bit of a hurry) - he sent the entire packet we had collected for him to bring to the interview. This includes my 134f, letter from employer, tax transcripts, copy of the NOA2 etc...

What will this mean? Will we have an RFE because he sent too much? Will it delay us getting an interview? Do to I need to resend him this information so he has it for himself at the interview? I have a copy or can make a copy of everything that was in that packet.

They SHOULD have everything in his file when he arrives... he will tell them that all the documents were sent in.

If possible, do send a copy. They misplaced part of my friend's I-134 last week (he did the same - sent everything in), and he needed to go back and get another copy of that document; it put him back by about a week and a half.

Okay, I will copy things. So, your friend did not get RFE'd for sending it all? Good to know! Did he get an interview date rather promptly, or did it take extra time b/c they had to go through everything?

You won't get an RFE for sending in too much. An RFE is sent out when additional information is required. Also, I don't think RFEs are sent out at this stage of the game. I think that any issues in regard to missing documents would be addressed at the interview. I would bring a copy of everything that shouldn't have been sent in case there is any issue with missing documents. Best of luck.

Nope - nothing was wrong for sending it all in.... just that they lost one of his pieces of paper, which was a bit of a bummer for him.

I don't believe it took any longer for him to get an appointment than normal... he's flying off to the US here in 4 days time to be with his loved one, so things did work out in the end ;-)

Thanks Kristin - I will start making copies and such tomorrow and have a new pack in the mail to him by the end of the week!! I feel much better now that I know it should all be okay!!! Thank you SO much!!!

I'm sure everything WILL be 100% fine and that copies are excessive, but better to be safe?
