Interview Tips for Chennai/ Mumbai/ Delhi/ Calcutta

Guys, a few of us are almost there - waiting for interview dates.

I read almost all the reviews posted by those that had been to Chennai for interview in VJ. However somethings like - is it good to take the large marraige/ reception/ honeymoon albums ro is is good to take a few pictures from each in smaller size.... There may be several other things that are specific to Chennai or may be to all Consulates in India that we could share with our touches and inter-action.....

We can not schedule a medical interview until we get the interview date/ letter - a copy of interview letter is required for medical.

This is what my wife and I have come up with to show bonafide evidence.

1. Jewelry Receipts (both sides) for the wedding.
2. Receipts for the party plot where the wedding was held.
3. Pictures of the Wedding in a small flip book album with family members on both sides and specific important religious parts of the ceremony (Hasta Melap, Fire Rounds, Sindoor, Mangal Sutra etc.) THIS IS VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT!
4. Hand Written Cards and letters
5. Phone Records
6. Skype Screen Shots and call history
7. Summary of Instant Messaging transcripts. Will be done on a month by month basis. (I would have over 500-600 pages if I printed it all).
8. E-mail transcripts
9. Photos showing after wedding relationship (Her parents marriage anniversary we had a small party etc)
10. Wedding Invitation from USA that is addressed and invited and recognizes both of us as a couple.
11. Facebook profiles showing relationship status as married to each other.

So far thats all we have come up with and it's quite a lot considering we had an arranged marriage.

I have all that you mentions. But Mine is love marriage.

How did you print or get face book profile. Moreover i have honeymoon hotel receipt, boarding pass of same day flight for honeymoon, my birthday pic with her family.

Only things i was wounder about if they ask that you have love or arrange marriage, then when would be my wife ans. I have been know her since 8 years and she is from same city and street. I have been talking to her since i got to US, but i have my phone bill records for 9 months. We did not have plan to get married, but our families are finally agree so we got married.

Let say my wife will tell to CO that we got love marriage and i have been known him since 8 years, then what would be the proof for our relationship before marriage.

I have all proof after wedding. I just wrote couples emails and greetings cards ( but cards did not have date)before marriage.

So it kinds of confusion about one question that love or arrange marriage.

Advise are appropriated.

Just tell the truth like I said in private messaging a while ago.

I took a screen shot of both of our profiles and printed them out.

You can also add to our list number 12.

She states that NVC will setup an appointment time for her (Specfic date and time). She is basing this on others that have done it in the past...

I read and am pretty sure once you get your official interview letter from DOS that you can request the medical on your own anytime before the visa interview

NVC doesn't schedule medical exams, that's the beneficiary's responsibility.

Sachinky, I have gone throuh the links provided - thanks.

Did Co nsulate ask for any of those hotel receipts....... What docuemnts did they ask for! We are getting ready for October interview (missed september by whisker) and appreciate your reply.

Nothing. I was not asked to provide a single scrap of evidence despite the fact that I carried nearly 10lbs of paperwork.

Somehow I thought so. I saw that a lot of questions were asked i) where there were divorces involved or ii) there is age gap or iii) where there was bare minimum required evidence sent in I-130/ DS-230 or iv) CO smelled/ felt what was submitted not sufficient (specially on income front).

I am not sure whether the big albums are worth taking or should she take a couple of pictures from weddig, reception & honeymoon trip.... Of course the Itineraries, telephone call lists, 401K beneficiary nominations, joint lease papers, along with I-130, DS-230, I864 copies.... What do you think!

Hi,

My wife went to VFS and they did not accept photos. Howver, my question they accepted phone calls and skype history, yet they did not accept the itenary when I visited to India in summer. VFS did not even take the hotel reciept nor the join financial statements. Any ideas?

Also our situation is that we had registered marriage and a big ring ceremony. What if the CO asks for vidhi photos? What should we tell them? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I took two albums. They weren't terribly big or heavy. One was the wedding album and had the professional pictures. I chose mostly the ones that had us posing with other people or family members. The other one was casual snap-shots from college with friends.

Frankly, I'd err on the side of caution. I took every damn thing I could think of and probably went over-board but even though nothing was asked for, the big bag of evidence gave me the confidence I needed not to collapse to my knees that morning. Also, I sat in the consulate for three hours and watched a TON of people getting grilled. That was NOT fun.
