missing naturalization certificate

Timeline

i am getting ready to file the k1 visa for my fiance, but i dont have my naturalization certificate. i misplaced it. i do have my valid usa passport. if i submit the k1 without the naturalization certificate. willl it be rejected due to request for evidence. IS the passport enought evidence to establish my citizenship????? any info on this will greatly help thank you

Passport (photocopy every page) should be enough but I believe one of the forms will need the date of your naturalization. You can probably also order a copy from the office where you got it.

The instruction for I-129f 3D says

"In place of any of the above, you may give the USCIS a copy of valid, unexpired US passport issued with a validity period of at least five years. You must submit copies of all pages in the passport. "

So that you can do that.

So that you can do that.

...just as long, as you know your certificate number and date+place of naturalization. I-129F asks for this info, if you're naturalized citizen...

Unfortunately it is extremely lengthy process (6 month at best).
