I am an active duty military service member and I just mailed a package containing financial support documents (w-2, Leave Earning Statement/pay stubs, I-134)to my fiancee. I was not able to include a 1040 (income tax return) and a letter from my employer and no bank statements since I only have $1000 in my bank account (I also did not enclose my current savings amount in my I-134). I'm worried that I am missing vital documents here. Would this affect her interview?

The interview will be fine, It's the issuing of the visa that will be effect effected.

I figured they would scan it during the interview. Don't they approve or deny visas right there and then?

Anyway, it would probably be best to just email her a copy of my tax return statement. Although I believe I don't have a 1040 since I filed mine online during deployment. Thanks

Print out the copy of the 1040 you filed online. You do not need to list assets or send bank statements and such. You just need to add your tax return to what you listed as sending her in your first post.

It's not allways approval or denial, there are other cases of 221g denial where the documents are missing and the visa will be issued once documents are presented. administrative processing can last a few days or months and in some cases it has endured for years.

It's best you get her your current tax return anyway you can, If you don't have a copy of your return, (don't understand way you don't have one, filed online or not you should have a copy) even if you failed to save a copy you can call the IRS and get a tax transcript faxed in a matter of minutes.
